If the Republican Presidential race came down to just Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, who would you vote for?

Rick Perry ....................................................... 49% [+18]
Mitt Romney.................................................... 37% [+19]
Not sure .......................................................... 14% [+6]

It is interesting that although he still trails by double digits, Romney still splits the votes from the other candidates (even netting 1% more). The conventional wisdom (and I believed it) says that Perry would get the lionshare from Paul/Gingrich/Cain/Bachmann/Santorum but apparently not.

Well according to Gallup Perry has 75% name recognition with GOP voters, but Romney's is 86% so not sure it would be that big of a factor. Perry's name recognition is significantly higher than Cain or Santorum.
