Voting for any of the listed options other than the Civil War is simply not historically literate. The Great Depression was awful but not brutally violent, World War II was the darkest period in many other countries' histories but left the US almost completely intact and arguably did a great deal of good for American society (although obviously involvement in a global total war is still not at all something to be celebrated for its own sake), and the more recent options are small potatoes by comparison.
