I do not see where it says who actually did these polls.. do you have a link please ?
Not sure what THEIR source is, but Polling Report does indicate that these polls were conducted by Market Shares Corp. for the Tribune (not conducted by the Tribune itself).

Weld fromsize of pic. But Bush is the one apparently unaware he is beng photographed, which  would say stands out more. But then again, Lincoln is in black and white. Tough one.

According to them, Bush's approval rating in Ohio is 43%  Ouch if that's accurate.  I don't think it's that bad tho.

There are two types of approval ratings. One asks you to pick:
Strongly Approve
Somewhat Approve
Somewhat Disapprove
Strongly Disapprove

The other (probably this) is, rate the president's job performance:
Excellent
Good
Fair
Poor

Excellent + Good = Approve

Some of those fair's will answer somewhat approve.
