Yippee!!! My Cardinals will be in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2015. It's just a matter of whether it is as NL Central champ or as one of the 2 wild cards.

If they're the champions, I look forward to their series with the Braves!

The Braves have been a lot of fun this season.  Picked 3rd or 4th in the east by most experts, they ran away with the division.  They're loaded with good, young talent and are exciting to watch.

Welp I usually support the Red Sox and Cubbies but both are eliminated now. I was gonna post a hot take that the Brewers wouldn't make the postseason and the Rays would, but looks like that neither will come true. Anyways, here's a postseason bracket:

NL Wildcard: Washington Nationals def. Milwaukee Brewers
AL Wildcard: Cleveland Indians def. Oakland Athletics
NLDS: Los Angeles Dodgers def. St. Louis Cardinals (3-1), Atlanta Braves def. Washington Nationals (3-0)
ALDS: Houston Astros def. New York Yankees (3-2), Minnesota Twins def. Cleveland Indians (3-1)
NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers def. Atlanta Braves (4-3)
ALDS: Houston Astros def. Minnesota Twins (4-1)
World Series: Houston Astros def. Los Angeles Angels (4-3)

So basically 2017 2 Electric Boogaloo

According to mlb.com, the wildcard winner plays the division winner with the best record.  So it will be Dodgers-WC and Cards-Braves in the NL.

Also, you have two AL teams in the World Series. Smiley

Cardinals whooped the Braves good in that 1st inning. 10-0, Cards.

I turned it off.  I can't watch anymore.

A couple of factoids I learned in the last couple of days:

1. The Yankees were the winningest team in baseball in the 2010's, yet did not win a pennant in the decade.

2. The Astros issued zero intentional walks this year.

That was some seriously bad umpiring last night.

I view it as their effort to improve the game by hastening the introduction of robot ball/strike umpires.

It's amazing that the visiting team has won every game so far.

In this anti-home field advantage World Series, the Nationals (formerly Montréal Expos) win it all in 7 games for the 1st ever in their franchise history.

🎵 Baby Shark, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo. 🎵

This is the first WS in which the home team lost every game.  You'd expect that to be a rare event, but I'm kind of surprised it never happened before.
