Like I said, the Skinny Repeal will be the easiest thing to fix once we have taken our country back.

Too bad for the people who can't wait until January 2021 (hopefully)

It will definitely suck but it will be great to see something that can probably be fixed with 50 votes than 60.

So essentially we are going to let 16 million people die on the street, or maybe we aren't, or maybe we are, or maybe we aren't, or maybe we are........make up your mind GOP!
The answer is just the right amount of uninsured people, obviously.

Sen. Johnson seemed shocked by reports the House could skip conference & pass skinny bill. "Say WHAT?! Come again?!"

Ron Johnson is the one GOP Senator who seems to legitimately be pissed that he's perpetually out of the loop. He'll still vote for this stupid s**t, though, but I get the impression that he actually is legitimately angry that reporters keep finding out stuff about the bill's progress before he does.

Anyway, regarding passage, it's still a big question mark. It could pass tonight, but it could also fail tonight. I don't think Mitch McConnell would tell you he's 100% he's going to prevail.

If it does pass tonight, either A. we get the conference committee that puts the Medicaid cuts back in and we go through this whole mess again, or B. they just go with Skinny Repeal and the GOP House people who were on board with this whole thing just to cut Medicaid to free up money for rich people's tax cuts will be furious because there's neither Medicaid cuts nor rich people's tax cuts in Skinny Repeal. This is far from over.

A bunch of GOP senators dont want Skinny Repeal to become law so if the house just passes it without Conference, I wouldn't be surprised if McConnell's position as majority leader will be in danger.

If Schumer offered not to run a Democratic candidate against Heller in exchange for permanent no on all ACA repeal votes, would it be a good deal for Democrats?

I'm thinking yes. There's no guarantee of beating him anyway.

This is a horrible idea.

Not if you know one of the millions of lives the scheme would potentially save

No, I meant because it would never in a millions years work.
----
Also, McCain sounds like he's not buying the skinny repeal idea, but I wouldn't take this statement for granted:

Bernie told people not to vote on this. The most interesting thing is to see the Democrats that voted no.

The thing is they aren't even cutting that much taxes. All they have accomplished is pissing off everyone.

If I am a senator, I would be calling for McConnell's head, he really ed this up.

Yeah, the guy who tweeted this misstated what Bash was saying.

It still chickensh**t though.

They actually don't like him, but they respect him as a strategist. But this episode should take some shine off of McConnell. He is an excellent opposition leader, but he is not good as the majority leader.

I mean this sh**tshow would never happen under Harry Reid.
