I must take the time to read your guide to Spanish elections, but didn't yet find the courage to start. That, my friend, is a hell of a thesis. Grin

I wish them the best, hoping the future of Libya will bring better days to its people than the past. I have a rather detached view of it, not too optimistic that whoever takes over in the end will be much different than Gaddafi, but hey, who knows?

I think the first quote is pretty funny, the second one is unnecessarily rude (though I don't know who Vander Blubb is), and disagree with the third.

All in all, meh.

It's the municipality I live in right now. It voted a whopping 84.3%-15.0% for President Obama in 2008 and is known as a "progressive enclave". It has a collection of aging hippies and a very liberal flair. We even have a Communist bookstore. A decent number of the cars you see have the usual assortment of left-wing bumperstickers: HRC Campaign, Obama, some random thing about world peace, "My child is a Peacemaker at the Coventry School, etc. I once told a conservative activist on the opposite side of town I lived there and he did a double take.

The picture is the road sign when you enter and it's a pretty good coincidence that there's a No Parking sign in the picture becuase you can't do that anywhere either. Yes, they actually still call the city a "Nuclear Free Zone". For such a free-thinking environment, they sure have some assinine laws. I've had friends ticketed for jaywalking. My old duplex was in violation of the greenspace ordinance because someone drove through and ripped up a tiny strip of grass. They now have a 6pm curfew for people under 18 in certain areas (but they only arrest black people for some reason Huh though no one will ever admit it). Basically the answer to the question "Can I..." is always no if it involves a basic task like crossing the street or parking and yes if it involves some stupid liberal fantasy like sex and drugs.
