RIP.  Hagman had a hugely versatile, co-starring in Fail Safe with Henry Fonda in 1964.  He also was the male lead. Capt., then Maj., Anthony Nelson for five years on I Dream of Jeannie, from 1965-70.

He will forever be remembered as "J. R. Ewing," and was an 1980's icon.

I remember him more as Maj Nelson, but that was when I watched a lot of TV in my elementary school years. Dallas ran during my years as a grad student and I could only take the time for an occasional episode.

I remember Fail Safe more for a rare non-comedic performance by Dom DeLuise than Larry Hagman as the translator.

I watched the newest season of Dallas, and he was excellent on there. He will be missed for sure.

RIP!
