"If you were voting in an election and all that you knew about the candidates for Congress, was that one was the incumbent -- that is, someone who currently holds that position -- and the other was the challenger, who would you be more inclined to vote for: the incumbent or the challenger?"

WTF kind of question is that?  The results by the way, Incumbent 21% Challenger 46% Unsure 33%

I understand that they're trying to illustrate that there's an anti-incumbent mood, but still...

Have you read BRTD's polls?

I know what they were getting at, and this is the first time I have seen someone try to get to that point.  The question, if people keep askig it, will evolve over time.

yes, I think it is meaningless till it has been asked for ten years or so and meaning read into the result.  I think it's an interesting question and may over time yield data worth considering.  and I also agree that it appears that Boss Tweed hasn't seen the many poll questions asked in this forum.
