Question for the democrats/liberals on here: who is/was more annoying. Lieberman or manchin?

If I were a liberal, I would still dislike lieberman more than mancin.

Lieberman's vote against the public option was objectively a vote in favor of key insurance donors in his home state. There was NEVER any "principled reservation" on the part of Lieberman. He was bribed and had dollar signs in his eyes.

Manchin, on the other hand, at least has been consistent throughout his career on his moderation and bipartisanship

Also, healthcare is far higher in terms of urgent need than tweaks to voting rights.

Look just because two Senators are single-handedly paralyzing the Senate doesn’t mean we have to talk about it.

Joe Lieberman was basically a Republican (same with Joe Manchin as well). At least Joe Manchin is probably the least corrupt and most honest politician in recent memory.

Manchin represents a much more difficult state for Democrats to hold, hasn't endorsed a Republican nominee for president, and hasn't gotten nearly as many people killed as Lieberman. Not a difficult choice at all, Lieberman was by far worse.

Obama won Connecticut in 2008 in by 22 points, Biden lost West Virginia in 2020 by 40 points. Joe Manchin has to be a moderate hero to survive, Lieberman was much worse, he was from a dark blue New England state.

I also suspect that Sinema would be the one if not Manchin, so the end result might be the same.

And third, they are both doing their best to make Democrats lose the midterms, but I dont think 2022 will be as bad as 2010 for Ds.

Just remember, Obama with Biden as Veep didn't repeal the Filibuster when they had 59 seats in 2009 and DC Statehood was blocked and they only was one vote away from 60

Also, Biden was in the Senate along with Hillary that voted for Bankruptcy Reform Bill in 2005 that made students payback Student Loans and it wasnot Filibustered

The D's also Fillibustered Tim Scotts Police Reform bill in the Last session of Congress and Filibustered 2005 ANWR REFUGE DRILLING and blocked 1.9T Stylus Package from TRUMP

The D's used the Filibuster to their advantage in all 3 scenario's

If Rs assume power by defeating Tester, Manchin and Brown in 2024 or in 2026 which is possible without DC Statehood, they will roll D's without the Filibuster

Depends on whether you are more offended by opioid deaths or war deaths. Both of them are decadent and depraved.

I'm more offended by war deaths.

I'm not a Democrat; I was a RINO and swing voter through 2018, but not now.  That being said, if I were a partisan Democrat I'd be far more offended by a guy who (A) bucked the nominee of his party, (B) won as an Independent with Republican support, and (C) openly endorsed and campaigned for the GOP nominee in 2008 (to the point where he was considered to be on McCain's VP short list).
