Sanders goes to a meeting of house democrats, gives his stump speech, then they ask him why the hell he hasn't endorsed Hillary yet and other tough questions and he responds with his typical arrogance... "my movement is more important than winning elections", "my message is a simple message", etc.  He's met with resounding boos.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/bernie-sanders-booed-house-democrats-225161

Also he says he's still holding out hope for #HillaryForPrison because the DOJ hasn't officially said they won't press charges yet.  The man continues to find ways to embarrass himself.

Yeah, how dare he not support Mi Abuela! It's not like he said he would vote for her or anything.

Honestly, this coordinated effort to project Sanders as an egotistical nutcase, who has spent the entire season talking about policy is beyond ludicrous. He's already said he's not going to be the nominee, he's just focused on implementing progressive ideas into the platform so, you know, the Democrats have a good chance of winning in November.

He also praised Hillary Clinton for her new education proposal which incorporates many parts of his plan

Good. It's well-earned, at this rate.

Money quote from the article, '"It was frustrating because he's squandering the movement he built with a self-obsession that was totally on display," said one senior Democrat.'

This, translated from 21st Century of Politicianese comes out to:

"We really wanted him to say he'd hand over his email list to us so DCCC could spam his supporters, but here he is talking to us about *issues.* What a bore.

Or, you know, there's he fact that Hillary is championing most of his issues and having his e-mail list would be a very effective way to connect her message with the people and donors who could help make her progressive agenda a reality.

But maybe that kind of thinking isn't revolutionary enough for you. Roll Eyes

Uhh since when does DCCC = HFA or the DNC? I suspect DCCC wants the list for itself, like all of the other orgs (MoveOn, the WFP, hell, Planned Parenthood Action and pretty much any lefty/democratic organization in DC).

But also, email lists are political currency these days. To the extent that Bernie has built a movement of progs within the Dem party at all over the past year, that would be totally dissolved if he handed it to any of those organizations. I understand that YOU don't want progs as an independent force within the party, but clearly the progs want to be.

The guy still threatens a floor fight over TPP language while he knows very well that any flat out rejection will be a personal rebuke against Obama.
I think it's pretty clear by now that he doesn't give a shiite about anything else than himself.

kind of hilarious that this sore loser continues to squander whatever clout and influence he had built up over the campaign season due to his own arrogance and delusion

he could be one of the most powerful and influential Democrats right now, a real leader in the party, but he's far too big headed for that

Or, ya know, American workers. But shame on him for caring more about workers than the President's #legacy, right?

I'd suggest Aricept, but he's probably beyond that now.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: Slightly off topic, but it's interesting the amount of Independents on the board who seem to care A LOT about how good or bad of a Democrat Bernie is...

An enema would be more useful considering how full of it he is.

The cause is the same. We need Democrats in Congress to implement a progressive agenda. I realize Bernie thinks it's as easy as waving a magic wand, but that's not quite how it works.

I suppose the NRDC, NAACP, GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, MoveOn, the AFLCIO, the ACLU and countless others should just hand over their lists and close their doors?

After all, it's the same cause, so why would individual organizations need to retain separate power from the Democratic Party? It's not like Congress misbehaves or anything.

If democracy is about representing the people's concerns and not just getting elected to hold power, then no.

This whole situation is getting tiresome. I do wish Sanders would just endorse Clinton already, while continuing to urge her to keep the focus on progressive issues. I also wish that people could read between the lines, and see that he's essentially locked himself into supporting her ("it appears I won't be the nominee", "yes, I will vote for her.")

Yeah, like that time Bernie got rural health clinics inserted into the ACA.

Because no one should want people in Appalachia getting dental care, apparently.

I don't know if he had declared himself a socialist in 2009 or not. But he has now, and he should be shamed into resigning from Congress over his fundamentally anti-american ideology that is just one step away from communism.

You obviously have a very little idea what the socialism actually is.

For it to be healthy, yes.  It's very easy for a democratic government to become corrupted into something else if it is divorced from engagement with the people it is supposed to represent.
