I have been extremely critical of Zelensky, but he has impressed me a great deal in the last 24 hours. Even if I would preferred Tymoshenko or Poroshenko.

We are coming Father Volodymyr!

Except we're not.

The Ukrainian people one would hope, are.

Is he referring to the missile attacks on cities/airports, or anything else that happened near the Polish border?

i despise china
If real sanctions are adopted, China stands to gain a lot of business since 10% of Russian imports come from the EU or US.

Russia becomes a vessel state for China.

Great for China, but for Russia.
According to the CIA world factbook 20% of Russian imports and 14% of Russian exports are already with China, making it Russia's top trade partner.

Anybody else leaning towards the concept that Russia is moving towards a full scale invasion and occupation?

Could be a great Putin bluff, but why go all out unless you are looking for the best position on the chessboard?

Anyone who spent the last month lecturing us that the invasion was CIA propaganda and a nothing burger needs to apologize.

Never really lectured but I was skeptical of our intelligence agencies after the Russian bounties stuff in Afghanistan.

I don't think that video is legit unless the shootdown happened hours ago. It's already been on twitter for hours with the claim that it was a Ukrainian UAV that was shot down.

Yes it certainly seems like they are trying to take over the country in full.

There is no possible case that it is limited to Donetsk/Luhansk, given that we have video of troops crossing from Belarus into Northern Ukraine etc, which is nowhere near.

It is possible that Putin may not want to occupy 100% of Ukraine all the way to the Polish border, but it is clearly not some small portion of it that he has in mind.

Yes. Ukraine will no longer be a sovereign country from here on out. Russia will control and own it. NATO will ensure that Russia faces massive punishments for doing this, but they won't send in troops to actually stop it from happening.

Yeah, we can't forget this is Russia we're talking about. They weren't exactly 'precise' in their shelling of Grozny either, so unfortunately I anticipate more of this as they exhaust their supply of cruise missiles.

It could be that Putin wants to use the status of Luhansk and Donestsk to push the border up to the Dniper, thereby leaving a rump Western Ukrainian state with Kyiv still as it's capital while swallowing up the rest of Ukraine. This is just speculation though and Putin's aims are included in the fog of war.

Edit: On second thought, I can't see Putin pushing up to the Dniper and not annexing Kiev even if it's not the same bank of the Dniper.
