Fun fact... I work in a Hovde building, and we met him because our building manager is a dumb-ass and screwed up our lease. He's actually...  a really nice, accommodating guy. Our office is pretty small, we don't pay much in rent comparatively, and he still came over to say sorry in person, and then worked out all our issues at that meeting. So, no, he's definitely better than Ron Johnson (who I have also met and is a total preening dick).

Still would vote for Baldwin.

That probably comes from having to work hard to get to where he is while Johnson married a rich woman and her dad gave him a business to keep him busy and out of the way.

Agreed, good point.

This is good news for Baldwin, needless to say

It sounds like with Duffy not running, the floodgates have now opened up about potential candidates:

WI Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald
State Senator Leah Vukmir
Kevin Nicholson (Iraq War Vet and management consulting executive from Waukesha County)
Eric Hovde
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke
Please oh please oh please David Clarke.

President Clinton would like to remind you to be careful what you wish for

I doubt Fitzgerald gives up his powerful role to gamble on this race

I still believe that the "Trump Effect" applies to Trump and Trump alone.

So far I'd agree, especially in lieu of Flynn and Puzder getting bumped this week. But we'll see.

Sean Duffy can run for U.S. Senate for Wisconsin in 2022 if Ron Johnson retires to return to his business. He could run for governor in 2022 as well, if he stays in the House. DCCC could target Duffy in 2018, however.

Right. It behooves Duffy to wait, IMO
