Wtf if this had happened to a woman she would be considered a victim.

Why in the world would he have to resign over this, are people really that prudish in Texas they won't vote for someone who dates have sex with a woman he is dating?

It's not like people don't expect politicians to have sex and such, it's just that they are held to a higher standard and thus not expected to have their "private matters" disclosed so ..visually. Hell, it's not even good for average people. The fact is that politicians really shouldn't be sending dick pics or what have you because it's never going to be taken lightly by the public.
He did not disclose his private matters. Someone else maliciously and with the intent to harm disseminated pictures of him. As far as I'm concerned that should be illegal regardless of the gender of the person doing it, and the notion that we hold him accountable for the actions of someone he dated is insane.

Ya if this was a female Democratic congresswoman the WaPo would be treating her as a martyr.

Of course he should call the police if a woman blackmails him or threatens to publicly expose his photographs sent to a consensual partner. Why should congressman or women not be able to send nude photos to their significant others, and why should the law in Texas against revenge porn not be applicable simply because the perpetrator is female and the victim is an overweight GOP congressman?
