Actually the Indiana Pacers defeated the Thunder in six games, following their seven game victory over the Heat, and the Thunder's sweep of the Spurs.

Washington D.C
Kitzhaber fails to escape Health, Labor and Pensions Committee

In an ominous sign of what is to come for President Obama, the lame duck congress's Health Labor and Pensions Committe rejected outgoing Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber 13-12, with nine of the ten Republicans voting against him (Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) voted for Kitzhaber), and and four Democrats (Kay Hagan (defeated in the general election), Bob Casey, Bernie Sanders and Michael Bennett voting with Republicans. Kitzhaber had been under fire for everything from "supporting socialized medicine" (Rand Paul), to "opposing socialized medicine " (Keith Ellison). While his chances on the Senate floor already appeared to be dim, his failing to get out of committee is huge blow for President Obama.

I'm hoping Alabama wins their 16th national championship in college football by finally taking down Winston & Florida State in this TL.

Boehner to step down as Speaker
Riverside, Ohio

John Boehner, at a fundraiser in Riverside, Ohio this morning, said he planned to stand down as Speaker of the House, following four rocky years that left him at odds with a increasingly conservative base, and congressional membership. In an interview with political reporter Howard Wilkinson of the Cincinnati Enquirer Boenher said that it was "time to begin to pass the torch to the next generation of Republicans", that he was at the moment committed to a re-election run, but saw a place for himself in the Presidential Race, and endorsed either Texas Congressman Joe Barton, or Wisconsin Congressman and 2012 Vice-Presidential nominee Paul Ryan to succeed him, while Conservative Groups, led by the Club For Growth, Freedomworks, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, are backing, a combination of Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz and Mia Love, and California Congressman Darrell Issa. Democrats, for their part are split between former speaker Nancy Pelosi (who hasn't said if she wants to go the Speakership, and has dropped subtle Presidential hints of her own to other members of the California delegation), New York Congressman, Jerrod Nadler, Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, and California Congressman Xavier Beccerra (Who has the support of the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Caucus).

Namibian Elections set new turnout record

Welcome, I'm Riz Lateef, and we have up-to the minute results on the major International Election tonight, the Presidency of Namibia, where the incumbent Hifkepuyne Pohmaba is currently term-limited. With many serious candidates the race was long and winding, but Namibia has benefited it seems, as turnout of eligible voters has hit a new high, with a preliminary tally of 82% of those eligible to vote turning out to do so. At this time we project that the Foreign Affairs Minister of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaiwatah will squeak out a narrow victory in the Presidential race.

Namibia President 100% Reporting

Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaiwatah 23%

Prime Minister Hage Geingob 21%

Windhoek Mayor Agnes Kafula 16%

Justice Minister Utoni Nujoma 12%

Walvis Bay Mayor Uilika Nambahu 11%

Retired Lieutenant General, and former ambassador to Zambia, Martin Shalli 10%

Former Cabinet Member Ben Amathila 5%

I believe the general thought is that people do not feel bad about trolling this timeline because the timeline itself seems absolutely inexplicable by anything other than trolling on your part. Do you really not understand why this timeline has attracted such ridicule?

If not, I'll give you a hint: it has a lot to do with things like this:

Pennsylvania Governor 89% Reporting

Allyson Schwartz (D) 75%
Ken Krawchuck (L) 12%
Tom Corbett (R) 9%
Paul Glover (G) 1.6%

You can't just throw things like that out without any context or explanation or your timeline will appear to be a random grab-bag of nonsense.

The problem with that analysis is my problems here, have gone back beyond that...
