Emoviolence is a pretty extreme example of "acquired taste", I didn't like it at all the first time I heard it either. This kind of makes sense considering it's an offshoot of an offshoot of an offshoot and often makes use of techniques that would simply be considered objectively bad in most mainstream musical genres, such as intentionally playing out of tune or using more distorted recording.
But Orchid is probably one of the most accessible bands of the genre. On the other end of the spectrum you have this.
If that is 'accessible'? Then yeah, there will be no meeting of minds on this and I can find redeeming features in most genres.
