No, I said the fact remains that being baptised is a requirement to being forgiven. And both are required to enter heaven.

Different Christian denominations differ as to this point.  It depends on what branch of the cult of Christ you follow.

The bible is plain and clear. I will let it win the debate for me.

You said that you don't care what the baptists say because you are "southern" baptist.  I'm asking how that makes you right and them wrong?

Are you aware of the exact reason your church was founded and split from the main Baptist denomination?

No why?

They were upset that a lot of Baptist leaders were opposed to slavery.

Prefer a tequila sunrise myself.

BTW, is Josh really loopy?  Is it an act?

I remember my grandfather had a saying that "even a stopped clock is right twice a day,"

So far, Josh isn't meeting that low standard.

I like your Grandfathers Saying, but how am I loopy?

Well, about the only consistency I can see in your posts is that you are opposed to just about every form of freedom.

I have also noted that you tend to post emphatic statements on matters where you have little knowledge.

Finally, when you cite "the bible" as your authority on so many matters you do not indicate which version.  Douay, King James, Revised, perhaps the vulgate translated by St. Jerome?

I had the good fortune to visit the Huntington Library where they not only have a copy of the Gutenberg bible, but where the project of translating the Dead Sea scrolls in process.

It seems to me that Shakespeare had it right, when he noted that 'there is more in heaven an earth than your philosphy allows for.'

The ONE and ONLY true English version of the bible.. King James Version.
