I've yet to see any evidence Washington state was stolen, for that matter.

Gee, the parties running reasonably honest elections, what's the world coming to?

Eh, ok...there was probably cheating on both sides, but it was almost certainly not 'stolen'.

There is a Loony Left, but mercifully most of the Democrats here are not among it.

I suspect that the same would be true on the national level.

Don't think Ohio was stolen, Bush won it far and square it wasn't all that close... ditto the election as a whole.

Attempted robbery.  The Republicans tried but it turned out there was no need as Bush probably would have won Ohio anyway.

I really haven't researched the controversy around Ohio, because it seemed clear to me from the time Kerry conceded that Bush had won there, and that the result (and later, after the controversy, the "real result") probably wasn't close in anything like the Florida 2000 sense, so I'm not qualified to say that Ohio wasn't stolen.  But I haven't seen any evidence to say that it was (meaning that the Kerry would have won Ohio if it wasn't for fraud, or even just Republican fraud - not to admit there was any Democratic fraud or to assume that there was Republican fraud), and have what I gathered was a sizable margin for Bush in the state after the last recount was completed to suggest that Bush was the legitimate winner of Ohio's electoral votes and the election.  So you can count me as having signed this list.  In fact, since I've already listed my name several times on this forum (which probably wasn't that bright, but what can I do?), I might as well "sign" my name here, so I'll conclude my post by saying...

Sincerely,

Kevin Lamoreau

There is some degree of fraud in every election, but there wasn't enough in Ohio to make the difference in the outcome. I am always highly skeptical of charges of fraud unless there is substaintial proof to back them up. Innocent unless proven guilty.

Exactly.  There's always fraud.  There's the NAACP trading crack for voter registrations, the GOP registereing voters and throwing away the forms of Demcorats, the cigarettes for votes in 2000, etc.  What we're looking for is not shennanigans, but 1) Systemic fraud (resulting from a coordinated effort by one side) 2) Statistically significant fraud (widespread enough to effect an outcome that was 110,000 votes apart) and 3) Unique fraud (fraud that was not matched or exceeded by the opposition party).  Ohio was legit.

No, Ohio wasn't stolen. The Bush campaign was more effective in getting its vote out

When your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

When you've spent millions on airborne rapid response legal teams, every Bush state looks like voter fraud.

The legal SWAT teams will be back in 2008 and they will probably see some action in 2006 as well.  At least some of the righteous indignation over voting in Ohio was fabricated by lawyers to justify their existence for next time.
