This is one of my favorite charts, mostly because of how ridiculous it seems by modern standards, the U.S. House after the 1936 elections. At this time in history Democrats held 76% of the seats in the House
Democrats (Speaker William Bankhead, AL-07) - 334 seats
Republicans (Min. Ldr. William Bankhead, NY-31) - 88 seats
Progressives - 8 seats
Farmer-Labor Party - 5 seats

Damn. Bankhead not only simultaneously won two seats in congress, but also lead both parties!
