Bomb attack in Boston

Does anyone think there might be significance to the flags along the route at where the bomb was placed?  They both happened on the flag side of the street and in two locations distant from each other.  It could be they were both placed by two nations intentionally.

With no information, it might be worth checking out.

I absolutely thought the same thing. I was only able to identify the Domincan Republic and Spain from the raw video. Israel seemed to be in the vicinity.

It's hard to tell with the blast.  They would have to establish where the bombs were specifically located and the flag across from it.

I thought that as well, especially when the news first broke and I thought the bombs were much smaller and less deadly than what happened this afternoon.

Absolutely horrible. My cousin goes to Boston University, and my friend's girlfriend goes to Boston College and actually was at the race (but not near the finish line). Both are safe, thank God.

Terrorism is, by definition, the use of fear or intimidation to achieve a political goal. Most shooters don't fall into this category as they have no stated goal or purpose to their acts.

Simply because there was a purposeful bombing, does not mean this is a terrorist attack.

Regarding the press shouting at Obama as to whether it was terrorism, just what does terrorism mean?  If sticking bombs in trash cans in a crowded space is terrorism, then the press already knew the answer. Does terrorism mean someone with a political agenda, as opposed to a nutter, or what?  The press can be just so loathsome - and dumb.

Yes, yes, I already posted that the Boston Police department denied having anyone in custody, but news services are still reporting that there is, and now apparently that this person who may or may not exist denied being involved.  As per usual in these situations, no one knows what's happening.

I heard on the tube that someone with severe burns was in the hospital, and a person of interest. I guess that doesn't count as the source of the "in custody" bit, but who knows.

Thank heavens that graphic just put up was fuzzy. It is horrific.
