If Todd Strange, Tommy Battle, Sandy Stimpson, John McMillon, Scott Dawson, and Bill Hightower all run/stay in against Ivey, what will the results look like?

I believe Ivey will still win handily

Completely unrelated to anything but Richard Lindsey was the grand marshal of our county’s Christmas parade tonight. Great guy! And will be missed in the legislature.

Did he represent a rural White district? Wondering if any of those (rural white D districts) still existed down here.

Pretty much so. It's the 39th state house district. 91% white. Richard is very well known around here. He and his family have been cotton farmers for a very long time. He's been in the Legislature since 1983 and his son currently runs the local cotton gin.

A Cobb/Maddox ticket would be incredibly strong. I understand Cobb is fairly well-known and well-liked in the state, and Maddox rising fast.

I wouldn't say Cobb is particularly well known. I believe Maddox is more well known and more electable.

Really? Can you elaborate?

It's not that Cobb really did anything wrong, its just that she was kinda in obscure office and didn't do anything particularly notable compared to Maddox. Maddox is the popular mayor of the Alabama success story known as Tuscaloosa. He's very well known across the state because of his terrific response to the April 27, 2011 tornadoes that destroyed Tuscaloosa.

Kay Ivey has never been married so it's not like Pat Todd was cluing everybody in on something that the rumor mill had not been spewing for years.  Aspects of Kay Ivey's personal life have been "baked-in" to her public persona for years, and I don't expect that this will affect her campaign in any substantial way.

Wrong. She’s been married and divorced twice.

As it stands now with 30%, Maddox is over 50 and winning in the north, Cobb is doing well in the wiregrass/Blackbelt/Montgomery region. Ivey is also barely over 50, she is losing the Huntsville region to its popular former mayor.

I thought he’d win Tuscaloosa county by a pretty decent margin.
