The RPP table has been edited to reflect this.

There will not be an update of the voter rolls today because there have been no changes since the last update!

Just one change, then. New registration of Winston Disraeli, VT, other party.
Oh, also: Sewer to JCP.

Yeah, he just changed his registration to the JCP from the "Crazy Fun Windis Marijuana Party" this morning. So that change will have to wait, unfortunately, until Thursday.

It is. He's a JCP member as of Friday. Regardless of whether my update has occurred, you guys can recognize him as such. My updates occur on Thursdays, so even though Winston is no longer in the Marijuana party, he will still be listed as that for another two days.

When I said this:

Yeah, he just changed his registration to the JCP from the "Crazy Fun Windis Marijuana Party" this morning. So that change will have to wait, unfortunately, until Thursday.

I meant that the "change" to my records would have to wait until Thursday. He joined the JCP as soon as he changed his registration.

Notice: Due to the high level of partisan volatility, I will delay my update of the voter rolls for a few days so that the party dissolution can play itself out.

I don't interpret the CIFA as requiring the automatic formation of new parties. It says that the dissolving parties may permit the spinning off of their old caucuses, but are implicitly not required to. In any case, I would have a strong revulsion to creating new parties without any of the caucus members' input. Assigning people to parties without their consent is not the proper role of the Registrar.

As it stands, though, the NPL has five members and the SDC has nine. The R2L, Liberal and Liberty caucuses are no longer official. It's likely that in a few days before February 1, there will be no official caucuses left to make parties out of.

I wanna know exactly where we stand. I'm curious to see all the numbers. Once the parties dissolve, each caucus becomes a party, if I read the law correctly, so it's good to know. no?

That's not the way I read the law.

The bill says:

Has the JCP "allowed" its caucuses to form parties? The bill seems to indicate that it doesn't have to.

I can tell you, however, that there are two caucuses remaining with official status: the Social Democratic Caucus (9 members) and the Non-Partisan League (5 members). All the rest have lost enough members to drop them below 5.

I did miss Winston's registration, forgive the oversight. The rolls have been updated. But I can still only find six SDU members:

Seatown
Windis
Fritz
Nathan
Hawkeye
Jackson

Who is the seventh, Fritz?
