New York 9/11 Truth has just posted a letter to the American people. It is the begining of a petition to Senator Mark Dayton to convene hearings focussing in on the NMCC, NORAD & FAA on 9/11.

As considered in the letter, the following is what is listed as what should be the focus of such hearings:

a.. Declassify as much information as possible about the multiple (up to 5 different) war games NORAD & other military agencies were running on the morning of 9/11 itself. This issue must be brought to light in front of the American public to ensure national security.

b.. Hold in depth public hearings focusing solely on NORAD, FAA, NMCC (National Military Command Center, which as you know is headed by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney & Donald Rumsfeld) & the 9/11 War Games.

c.. Demand the 9/11 Commission explains why they didn't do this themselves.

d.. Declassify General Ralph Eberhart's March 1, 2004
interview referenced in the 9/11 Commission Report.

e.. Force General Ralph Eberhart, NORAD, and the 9/11 Commission to admit NORAD was fully aware that domestic airlines could be hijacked and used as weapons, so much so that they ran exercises for just such a scenario (as has been documented by multiple mainstream press reports).

f.. Call all NMCC, NEADS & NORAD Commanders on duty the morning of 9/11 to testify to Congress, to finally figure out what really happened.

g.. Focus attention on the "new timeline" presented by the commission staff report, included in the final report, which contradicts every official timeline recognition prior to the last hearing.

h.. Fully address the role of Ptech, the data-blueprinting company owned by Saudi terrorist Yasin Al Qadi, in any FAA delayed responses. This company had access to the data blueprint of the FAA's entire computer systems prior to, and on, 9/11. Ptech had offices in the basement of the FAA. This information came from Wall St. Whistleblower Indira Singh, and has been documented extensively in the mainstream press. The 9/11 Commission report blames the FAA for much of the "apparent failures" on 9/11, but never once addresses the very real possibility of cyber-terrorism in the basement of the FAA itself. Indira Singh has publicly called Ptech, "Effectively an Al Qaeda corporate cell." This must be addressed publicly to ensure national security.

i.. Start investigating the very real possibility of criminal negligence.

From NY911Truth & Concerned Citizen’s Across the Country

To Senator Mark Dayton;

On behalf of concerned citizens throughout the nation, we would like to thank you for pointing at the elephant in the barracks. I am referring to the completely unexplained “response” of NORAD & FAA on September 11, 2001.

You have very correctly brought up some crucial points in the 9/11 Commission’s Report that just don’t add up. One of those points is how could the NORAD jets scrambled from Langley have flown out to sea in apparent defiance of a direct order from a NEADS Commander. The report claims a “generic” scramble order was assumed to take precedence over a direct order from a Commander. How can that possibly be true? It makes absolutely no sense? But yet the report doesn’t address this issue in any substance.

Unfortunately there is much more that is very disturbing in this report. NORAD, the agency whose mandate is to “watch our skies” officially claims it “did not recognize” the threat of hijacked domestic airliners being used as weapons.

This is a complete & total 100% lie.

On April 18, 2004 in an article titled “NORAD had drills of jets as weapons,” USA Today reported a drill planned in July of 2001 and conducted “later” which posed hijacked airliners, originating in the United States, used as weapons to crash into targets – including the World Trade Center.

The footnote for this statement in the 9/11 report – chapter 1 #98 – states that NORAD’s “no recognition” came from an interview with General Ralph Eberhart on March 1, 2004.

I contacted the Staff Communications Director Jonathan Stull and asked for a transcript of the interview referenced in this footnote. He stated the interview was private, attended only by the commission and its staff, and the transcript would be in the National Security Archives with the rest of the 9/11 Commission’s information. A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request is required to obtain this transcript.

The report’s lack of intense scrutiny of NORAD doesn’t end there.

On June 17, 2004, at the final public commission hearing in Washington D.C., I personally asked General Eberhart, the man heading NORAD on 9/11, who was in charge of coordinating the multiple war games running on the morning of the 9/11 attacks. He responded:

I also asked Chairman Kean, Richard Ben Veniste and Jamie Gorelick the exact same question and none of them could give an answer – they directed me to staff. I asked Staff Communications Director Jonathan Stull the exact same question. He had no answer, but finally responded by stating it was an issue the commission was very concerned about, and would address in their report.

This statement was absolutely false.

Since the 9/11 Commission has openly stated that there is “no one to blame” for the “failures” on 9/11 it is obvious they are incapable of conducting a proper investigation in the face of the lies told from one of the highest military posts in the country. General Ralph “Ed” Eberhart is now head of Northern Command, the highest Air Force Command in all of North America. To allow a man holding this much power to lie to the 9/11 Commission, behind closed doors, with no public oversight is a direct threat to our national security. The fact that he was sworn in under oath on June 17, 2004, and not one question was asked at that time about NORAD’s “no recognition” of domestic airliners being used as weapons speaks volumes for the commission’s credibility.

Thank for your time

Sincerely;

This is why:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., charged Friday that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) have covered up "catastrophic failures" that left the nation vulnerable during the Sept. 11 hijackings.

"For almost three years now, NORAD officials and FAA officials have been able to hide their critical failures that left this country defenseless during two of the worst hours in our history," Dayton declared during a Senate Governmental Affairs Committee hearing.

During the hearing, leaders of the Sept. 11 commission urged Congress to promptly create a national intelligence chief to command a fragmented U.S. counterterrorism effort before Al-Qaida strikes again.

"The intelligence community is not going to get its job done unless somebody is really in charge," said the commission's vice chair, former Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind. Hamilton and commission chairman Tom Kean, a former Republican governor of New Jersey, also pressed for creation of a National Counterterrorism Center to end intelligence-sharing failures that may have enabled the Sept. 11 hijackers.

"What we're trying to do is force the sharing of information and then make one person responsible," Kean said.

The Senate committee, moving with urgency despite Congress' summer recess, gave the two leaders a warm reception in the first of 15 or more congressional hearings in coming weeks on the 40 recommendations laid out in the commission's book-length report.

"I think you stood your ground very convincingly," Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman, the committee's ranking Democrat, told Kean and Hamilton as the hearing concluded.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, the committee chair, said she plans to hold several more hearings in hopes that the panel can adopt legislation by Oct. 1, possibly for floor consideration after the November election.

Dayton: 'NORAD lied'

During the hearing, Dayton told leaders of the Sept. 11 commission, that, based on the commission's report, a NORAD chronology made public a week after the attacks was grossly misleading.

The chronology said the FAA notified the military's emergency air command of three of the hijackings while those jetliners were still airborne. Dayton cited commission findings that the FAA failed to inform NORAD about three of the planes until after they had crashed.

And, he said, a squadron of NORAD fighter planes that was scrambled was sent east over the Atlantic Ocean and was 150 miles from Washington, D.C., when the third plane struck the Pentagon -- "farther than they were before they took off."

Dayton said NORAD officials "lied to the American people, they lied to Congress and they lied to your 9/11 commission to create a false impression of competence, communication and protection of the American people."

He told Kean and Hamilton that if the commission's report is correct, President Bush "should fire whoever at FAA, at NORAD ... betrayed their public trust by not telling us the truth."

Asked about Dayton's allegation, a spokesman for Colorado Springs-based NORAD said, "We stand on our testimony to the commission" and declined to discuss the 2001 chronology.

Erin Utzinger, a spokeswoman for Dayton, said the senator "assumes the FAA knew of NORAD's coverup."

FAA spokeswoman Rebecca Trexler said the agency "has never and would never intentionally misrepresent or alter information. We worked very closely with the 9/11 commission and provided them with everything that was available to us."

Dayton told reporters that he skipped festivities at the Democratic National Committee Tuesday night and sat in his hotel room until 2:30 a.m. reading the commission report. After piecing together the section about the FAA and NORAD, he said, he could not fall asleep.

Dayton outraged

"I'm a strong defender of government," he said. "When government fails, it really outrages me. It just destroys peoples' trust and faith."

Using the chronology, Dayton argued that if the FAA had promptly sent a systemwide message about the hijackings, the pilot of the fourth plane seized, United Airlines Flight 93, might have been able to secure the cockpit doors and land the plane.

Passengers, including Minnesota native Tom Burnett, Jr., "could very well be alive," he said.

"This is unbelievable negligence," Dayton said. "It doesn't matter if we spend $550 billion annually on our national defense, if we reorganize our intelligence or if we restructure congressional oversight if people don't pick up the phone to call one another."

He also noted that NORAD could not find the hijacked jetliners because terrorists turned off their transponders and NORAD lacked adequate radar to locate them without that beamed signal.

Dayton said NORAD also falsely claimed that during the hijackings, it had F-16 Combat Air Patrol planes in place at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and an AWAC command ship in the air to protect the nation's capital.

Dayton, a former Minnesota state auditor, called the FAA's and NORAD's failures "the most gross incompetence and dereliction of responsibility and negligence that I've ever, under those extreme circumstances, witnessed in the public sector."
