Unfortunately, the Census Bureau lists Blair as being ineligible to re-register until 9/27. I could be wrong, of course.

Why would we keep people from re-registering for a period of time? I guess I could see how it cuts down on the number of people quickly re- and de-registering, which I suppose would be annoying, but it's even worse, in my opinion, to lock out potentially productive people because they deregistered in the recent past.

Crazy idea: Bore could let Blair back in via some dodgy executive order, and then appoint him to one of the multiple empty cabinet positions? (Or maybe the Senate, if a dodgy executive order wouldn't work.)

To clarify blair re registered after pming me expressing interest in becoming AG. According to the constitution the AG has to be a registered voter so it's technically allowed. That said, atlasian laws only hold effect if they command the assent of the population, so could we just pretend that Blair is a registered voter now, and let him become AG? The idea that laws have to command popular assent is not even that radicaly, it's certainly implied in jury nullification.

Given that we need more people and I think Blair will certainly be a much better AG than the last maroon UK avatar that had the job, I think that's a good idea. As I already said, I'm unsure why that re-registration limit is in place to begin with.

Remember when I said that Simfan's refusal to accept GM storyline as fact would be the lynchpin in nullifying GM authority? I think that such a decision here could prove to be the same for the RG. If we begin allowing people to return based on deemed necessity or public support, then there are many other registration-based claims that can be up for debate. I would like for Blair to come back, too.

The two-month registration period exists, FYI and AFAIK, so that people cannot simply vote in one region, de-register, and then reappear in another in time to vote in that region's elections 2 months later. It basically ensures (in most cases) that you miss the next election as a result of your de-registration. However, I don't think this would apply here specifically, because I have continued what Fritz did with respect to recording how much time someone had before they could move again when they de-register. Upon returning, they can only return to that region and they are confined to said region for the amount of time they were not able to move before they de-reg'd (if applicable). Blair, as best as I can recall w/o looking at the sheets, had no restriction.

Perhaps I can be persuaded, but I can't just yet give in on this without some more thought and consultation.

The decision is solely up to Griff. I was always registered in the Northeast, and never moved apart from registering in New York this time, rather than Massachusetts

Go ahead and ask bore to issue an executive order on the matter, and I'll be happy to re-register you.

My concern has never been with being prosecuted - I'd give 'em a proper spanking if they tried to do that! My concern the entire time has been with maintaining the legitimacy of the office and not having it turned into another GM situation where some regions might try to ignore/add select voters in disagreement with the office, among other things.

What are the current rules?

I don't think anyone has posted the legislation - so there may be clauses within the legislation, that could give us an answer to the question.

Thanks Griffin

Normally I would be against reinstating someone, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and blair was literally the only person to apply for any cabinet position. I'm sure he will do an excellent job.

Words "SirNick" and "gentleman" doesn't belong in the same sentence.

SWE became an independent so they just have 4, right? Clyde, Evergreen, Oakvale, and Dallasfan?
