Hey everyone Smiley

When the eye wall started hitting, things got pretty bad over here.  As I was talking to Alcon and some other folks, the power went off and a palm tree crashed through my window all within 5 seconds.  Everyone's fine though.  My new house is faring better than my old house did.  I have evacuated slightly inland to avoid the nasty feeder bands that are on their way.  I'll have limited access for a day or two (or three).

See ya around Smiley

A palm tree smashed through you window. Shocked

That's something that you don't see everyday, or at least hear everday. Wink

Well it's good to see that you're okay Ben. Don't want our new Sec Def getting on the wrong side of a hurricane.

I thought we were safe when I heard Florida got hit, but we still not safe and the project path has moved further west in the past few hours. It's looking more towards Mississippi right now. It's suppose to make landfall sometime on Monday.

Hey everyone - just to let you all know, I received some minor injuries because of flying glass.  It seems like I'll be ok though.  It happened when the palm tree crashed through my window.  Everything's fine.

Brandon - the damn thing should miss you.  It shouldn't go that far west.

Okay, that's good. Smiley

It's best not to panic in these situations.  If it does come toward you, I'd advise staying put, because it will be too difficult to evacuate.

Well things have changed. New Orleans looks like it may be a direct hit. My girlfriend wants to evacuate so I will be leaving as well. No idea if I will have internet access or not, but I will be taking my laptop with me (plus my work laptop). Good chance I won't be available for a few days.

Yes, you need to evacuate.  Be safe my friend.  This thing is gonna be a helluva lot worse for you than it was for me.  Take care of yourself. Smiley

Yeah, a 3 or a 4. Even if we don't take a direct hit, given the size of the thing, we will feel a lot of impact. Thanks.
