I disagree.

I often receive email messages from colleagues which end with "in solidarity".  I prefer "¡Hasta la victoria!" and that's what I use, but "in solidarity" seems more appropriate here.

I've been busy and have only just read the transcript of Sanders speech.  He seems willing to continue his campaign.  Nice.  At least I couldn't find any line that suggest that he's quitting any time soon.  See here, for example.  Feel the Bern.

With a little luck we might just have two contested conventions later this summer.  Awesome!!!  Kiss

Probably.  Same goes for the GOP.  One can wish, though.

I, for one, am very excited that (a) Sanders did not concede defeat last evening and his supporters do not generally seem to be Ready For Hillary and (b) Trump doesn't like the Republican establishment and the Republican establishment doesn't like him.

It's an exciting time to be a political junkie.  Smiley

I think so.  Think of the great campaigns of war.  Even when they know that victory is not possible, some men still fight so long as their commanders have not yet ordered them to lay down arms.  The parties will choose their nominees at the national conventions.  Some already have.  The socialists, for example, have nominated Mimi Soltysek.  Once the DNC nominates, even if it happens after a particularly nasty floor fight, then the campaigns of all those not nominated should cease.

etr906 mentions that some are calling Sanders a traitor.  That's also an interesting point.  To my way of thinking, he's only a traitor if he runs a third-party or independent campaign in the general election.  I'd regard that as unethical.  He has come out as a democrat and has a right to try to be their nominee.  I say that not only because I voted for him in the primary but because I think it's true.  I feel the same way about any Republican that wants to challenge Trump at the GOP convention.  But once the dust settles, all those running for a party's nomination need to accept the result of the nominating convention.  They must not feel obligated to endorse, or even vote for, their party's nominee, but they really should not actively campaign against their party's nominee.  At least that's my feeling, so if Sanders goes on a write-in campaign after the DNC is over, then I think it would be accurate for all of us to respectfully label him a traitor.
