I think labels like Capitalism and Socialism are very outdated, on their own without context, nowadays.
(Yes, I am aware I have an "S" on my Avatar!)

My preferred option is what the Scandinavian nations have been doing for the past 25+ years - Enabling the development of entrepreneurial business, whilst also providing a solid, safe guarantee that (where possible) nobody in society would have the ladder pulled up on them.

Britain was one of the first nations to create a welfare state in the aftermath of WWII. Yet (under both Conservative and Labour governments) they have bastardised that welfare safety net for political gain and currying favour with (foreign-owned) right wing press.
