You know we live on the other side of the looking glass, when job one is the US intelligence agencies investigating its own boss.

Just when one thinks Trump can't possibly get even more reckless than he has been, one finds out that he apparently is just getting warmed up. How many days are left to Trump's term again?

An agency so top-secret that I, something of an IC buff and enthusiast, had never heard of it

I can do some of their work for them and state with confidence that about 40% of what he said to them was "great" or "very good."

Why? Trump says he 'gave nothing away' at a very good meeting. The intel people are just doing their jobs. If they were going to make up damaging information about Trump they could do that without all the legwork, and Putin could discredit them by releasing his records of the meeting anyway.

So the only reason any Trump supporter would find a problem with this is if they belive Trump is a traitor and revealing the contents of his meeting will incriminate him.

Is that why Democrats had a problem with Ken Starr’s ridiculous investigations? Because they thought Bill Clinton was a traitor?

As well as “but we’ll see what happens.”

Find his translator and have them testify under oath. Can it be that simple?

Uhh.... good? I would certainly hope they would do their jobs - you know Moscow already has a recording of this conversation and who knows what dumb things Trump said and promised.

Isn't that the agency that wiretapped Angela Merkel's phones for years? This is hardly "through the looking glass" - it's just what they do.

We spent much of the twentieth century with our presidents living under the thumb of an autocratic FBI director. That's not how "checks and balances" are meant to work.

Excellent point here. Even the intelligence officials being criticized by Trump and Congressional Republicans aren't partisan; most of them served under Bush or Clinton before Obama. Even "Communist" Brennan, as they call him, was too conservative for Obama to nominate during his first term, even though he was recommended by many, including Defense Secretary Robert Gates, another Bush holdover. The IC is a revolving door for these guys.
