I find that pretty hard to believe. Either Swallow is her middle name, in which case she could easily go by Karen S. Prior or Karen Prior, or she intentionally chose that name after marriage.

That, or her parents were some real sadists.

Are you seriously unfamiliar with why women would want to keep their maiden name in their usual authorship while also adopting their husband’s?

Obviously the piece is ludicrous but I'm just glad the "paper of record" is actually publishing opinions that exist outside and challenge leftist/woke bubbles again. I've noticed that a lot lately. I might even resume my subscription after 5 years if they keep it up.

Prior is a fairly brilliant woman who allegedly left Liberty due to changing procedures she disliked requiring her to teach classes outside her specialty, but I think most people have recognized it at least partially had to do with her vocal criticisms of Trump.

Her name is irrelevant. This bill probably cost Republicans any chance they had at picking up seats in Congress and it might have pushed Texas out of their column in 2024. Seems like that is what Democrats should be laughing at more.
