Even if he is not a Nazi, calling Hitler "The Fuhrer" and saying that visiting his vacation house was on your "bucket list" is enough to make anyone recoil.

It is rather tone deaf phrasing at best.

Pretty good ending paragraph: "Cawthorn has proven that he’s learned a valuable lesson, one that’s been gleaned from watching a generation of Republicans: If you craft the right story, as riddled with holes as it may be, you can sell people anything."

As noted, not terribly worried about what the kids said. It was tone deaf it worst.

But it's increasingly obvious he is a five star fraud.

It's starting to smell like this will play out as he'll step down before the deadline for the Republicans to replace him as their nominee, although I don't know offhand what that date is, and give it to Mark Meadows batsh**t insane chief of staff who lost the primary, turning this back from lean r to safe r
