Down year for the SEC?

Tennessee is down 28-23 to Georgia State in the 4th.
Arkansas is down 10-6 to Portland State at halftime.
Ole Miss lost to Memphis.
Florida beat Miami, but looked awful doing it.
Alabama is up big on Duke late, but they were scoreless after the first quarter.

Mississippi State had an underwhelming win too....they better hope Auburn beats Oregon...

I had the Arkansas score backwards...they were up 10-6 at the half, now up 17-6.  But Georgia State just went up 35-23 on Tennessee with a little over 4 minutes left.

Wyoming upsets Mizzou 37-31! Kelly Bryant couldn't save them apparently....

Not a shocker. I always suspected Bryant won all those games at Clemson because of the other talent, not because of himself.

I suspect (although we don't know for sure yet) that Mississippi State got lucky when Bryant didn't pick us, opening the door for us to later get Tommy Stevens instead.

The SEC is "down" because talent consolidated to allow the conference to have five of the top eight teams in the country (top 10 at worst). [No, this does not include Florida.]

Very excited for what Jimbo and Ed O will do this year.

(No, this is not exactly what happened since all teams continue to dominate recruiting rankings including the likes of Tennessee and coaching variation is a greater explainer. But I did want to highlight the unparalleled strength at the top that no other conference comes close to.)

Even though we still have games tomorrow and Monday, I will post the week 2 pick em sometime tomorrow/today (if you are in eastern time), the rankings will be based on last week's AP Poll since the new AP poll isn't until Tuesday (as a result of OU and ND on Sun and Mon Tongue )

Wow! If OU wins tomorrow then the Big 12 will have gone 10-0 against OOC this week!

Laughing at UT united the Vandy and Georgia fans at the game tonight!  I'm usually all about cheering for our SEC compatriots, but Tennessee losing to Georgia State is an exception!  So funny!!

Here are a few stats from the first week, based on what I've read in this thread.  These are unofficial, since I'm not running the game (and I don't mean to steal dfw's thunder; I just like fiddling with this kind of information).

There were 17 players total, but not everyone picked all games.  YE apparently overlooked the Cal-UC Davis game, Coastal Elitist didn't pick the Towson-Citadel game, and peenie_weenie picked too late for all the Thursday/Friday games and also overlooked Towson-Citadel.

Games picked unanimously (all correctly, if Notre Dame wins):

Clemson over Georgia Tech
Wisconsin over USF
Rutgers over UMass
Kentucky over Toledo
Alabama over Duke
Georgia over Vanderbilt
Oklahoma over Houston
Notre Dame over Louisville

Games with only one dissenter:

Arizona-Hawaii (dissenter was right)
Colorado-Colo. St.
Kansas-Indiana St.
South Carolina-North Carolina (dissenter was right)
Cal-UC Davis
USC-Fresno St.

Most divisive games:

Memphis (7) over Ole Miss (10)
Towson (9) over Citadel (6)

Gettin' my picks in order now, but I believe you have Western Kentucky/FIU listed twice, and therefore there are only 24 games this week?  Just wanted to clarify, thanks!
