This looks like an interesting game. But I like TN's position the most right now. There is no immediate threat to him and his region will be easily assumed.

I have to agree with this, although there is the chance that The Mikado prefers the Mid-Atlantic to the Midwest: easier to hold if he can beat TN, depending on dice rolls, and Josh has already fortified the Midwest heavily enough that the winner of that battle would have a lot of trouble anyway. The Mikado moving into the Mid-Atlantic would make TN's position much less desirable.

Meeker's in a tough spot.  The way the map is, Gustav is almost certainly going to want to attack Nevada next round, so trying to get and hold the Southwest is unlikely to succeed unless he can make an arrangement with Gustaf.  With no prospect of taking and holding a region, making a single attack to gain a RISK card or blitzing west to deny Gustaf the Pacific bonus looks like the best short term strategies.

Indeed. He could certainly take over the Southwest, but to do so before denying Gustaf the Pacific by taking California would be a mistake, IMO. Gustaf would simply be too strong. He might still be able to take the Southwest and California if he gets good dice rolls (CO-NM-AZ-CA-NV-UT or CO-UT-NV-CA-AZ-NM, the former ending troops closer to the frontier), but blitzing to California should take priority.

Two in Alabama, one in Texas.

Attack AL-FL-GA and TX-OK, moving the minimum number of troops into OK, and await further orders.

Attack GA-NC, all in NC, but stop the attack if I have only two left in Georgia and then attack TN-NC, leaving two in TN if possible. End turn.

Well, this is interesting. Way to make Josh's life a lot easier, people.

Exactly. If Meeker hadn't attacked me in Texas, Josh wouldn't get the 8-person bonus this turn, but I really don't have enough forces to go toe-to-toe with Josh now unless I get really lucky.

Blech. I'll gamble.

All three in North Carolina. Attack NC-SC, do or die.

I didn't say I wasn't going to make other moves, but, yes, I'm going to let Josh have the Midwest for a turn. I can't do anything else and hope to be more than a spoiler.

I expected that to happen. Oh well. Attack OK-TX, then AR-TX if OK-TX fails. Tactical move all from TN to AR and end turn.

Personally, I am shocked, shocked, that he didn't even bother fitting a "1" into Rhode Island.

Another situation where I'm stuck relying on other people to make certain moves. Oh well. The South Carolina independents really have it coming after last turn.

All in NC. Attack NC-SC again.

Move all from South Carolina to Georgia and end turn. (Yes, it does make sense.)

There have been a lot of... unusual moves this game, such as Josh failing to take out TN in Maryland when he had the opportunity and TN not taking over the Mid-Atlantic last turn.

For the record, I ignored Josh last turn because he outnumbered me on our border while he left his border with you undefended--but the reverse was true this time.

I hope Verily has a set ready if he intends to recreate the Confederacy with sufficient forces to defend what he has won....  Tongue

I wish, but fortunately the board position is much better for me after this round than after the last one.

One in Georgia, two in Texas. Attack GA-TN and AR-OK.

Well, now that I've conquered Virginia, I'm certainly feeling an urge to secede.

Josh, you do realize that MM controls NJ and DE, right, and therefore you can't eliminate him this turn?
