Even though they beat us (meh ...), Swedish TV is just awesome. Especially the commercials.

Iceland have been playing with ten men for forty minutes and Croatia still can't break the deadlock.

Wow. France is going to have a ton of pressure going into the second leg. Another handball incident maybe? Wink

So the Greeks are the only team safe for Brazil?

I wouldn't go that far. They have to go to Romania next week and Romania managed a goal today.

Damn, Portugal turning up the heat now in the final minutes ...

Almost another goal (onto the goalpost).

Oh, I was under the impression that the game was in Bucharest. Still, I feel safe. Tongue

Let's see:

Prediction for the play-offs:

Portugal vs. Sweden (Go die, Sweden ... Tongue)
France vs. Ukraine
Greece vs. Romania
Croatia vs. Iceland (lulz prediction)
Uruguay vs. Jordan
Mexico vs. New Zealand

Well, maybe France wins the other game ... Tongue

Portugal not through yet, but leading ...

Maybe Iceland with the upset ?

Greece looks through ...

Romania pulling through now would be a major upset, but not sensational. Romania pulling through would have been an upset from the start, though.

Nigeria are through. Poor Ethiopia.

Nigeria face Italy in a Friendly in London on Monday.

Ivory Coast will also qualify today. If they don't get another group of death I could see them doing as well as quarterfinals.

Cameroon take 3-1 lead on the 66th minute, can probably book their tickets. (They got a scare with the 1-2 just after the break, though.)

Let's "hope" (not that I really care) that Burkina Faso can pull off an upset during the week so we can see a West Africa sweep. We already know Ghana is in.

They do play the more interesting-to-watch football compared to the Maghrebins.

Besides, this WC is weirdly low on debuting teams. Throwing in at least a couple with Iceland and Burkina Faso would be nice (Bosnia hardly counts, them finally qualifying for something was so obviously overdue. Much like Cote d'Ivoire in 2006.)

Fun facts heading into Tuesday:

Ukraine won three of their five road matches during this qualifying.

France won three of their four home matches and each of those wins was by at least two goals.

Croatia hasn't won a home qualifier since March 22nd. They haven't won any qualifier since March 26th. Maybe Iceland does have a chance...

Greece has only beaten Romania away from home once: a Friendly in 2002. Overall away record is (1-2-12).

Tomorrow:

Austria vs. USA (friendly game in Vienna)

Could be an entertaining game, because the US is not WC-fit right now (only tied Scotland recently), but we are not much better either.

My prediction:

2-2

My other predictions for tomorrow:

2-2 Sweden vs. Portugal
1-1 France vs. Ukraine
1-2 Romania vs. Greece
0-1 Croatia vs. Iceland (lol)

4-0 Uruguay vs. Jordan
1-2 New Zealand vs. Mexico
