CNN will be covering it from 7:00 pm - 12:00 am EDT all four nights.

They'll do the same for the Democratic National Convention all except for Labor Day night.

I wish Gov. Mary Fallin of the Great State of Oklahoma would have a big audience.  I think she could be a dark-horse rising star in the Republican Party.  I'm going to watch all four nights of the convention if I can, except for Thursday night when I may be watching College Football.

Does anybody know what CNN will do tomorrow night now that the day's convention schedule is nixed?  Will they go back to regular programming (Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper, and Piers Morgan) or will they have 5 straight hours of convention prep?  CNN was supposed to air the convention from 7:00-midnight tomorrow night right after the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.

I think it's a safe bet CNN will do a night of hurricane coverage.

That's true, they probably will.  The Weather Channel will have constant hurricane coverage until Thursday.

The 2012 Republican National Convention is officially underway.  It was gaveled into session at 2:00 pm ET.  Now, just another day to get the action going.

It's good to see that while the convention is a 25% shorter, that two great leaders are still going to speak today - Mayor Mick Cornett (R-Oklahoma City) at 3:15 pm CT and Gov. Mary Fallin (Oklahoma) between 7:00-8:00 pm CT.  I know they're not big nationally, but they both, especially Gov. Fallin are rising stars within the party.  Gov. Fallin will be finished with her term as Governor in 2019 (if she wins a second term in 2014) meaning she could be a potential 2020 or 2024 dark horse.

In more relevant news, though, I'm glad Gov. Christie is going tonight so he has less of a chance to overshadow Gov. Romney or even Rep. Ryan.  I'm also interested to hear how Mrs. Romney attempts to humanize her husband.  I'm voting for President Obama in November, but I am very interested in the Republican Convention, not to jeer it or laugh at it, but to have as close to a fair fight as we can.  I want, and I'm sure Obama, wants Romney's best shot.

The role call should be starting. Will Ron Paul be placed in consideration? He did just make a "triumphant" entry into the hall, and was swarmed by chanting supporters. Fox immediately cut away to interview Mia Love...

The fact that Paul is AT the RNC means something. He might endorse Romney, and he might get his name placed in consideration. I have C-SPAN on.

The Schedule on C-SPAN says the Roll Call for Nomination of President will occur at 5:20 pm ET (1 hour 50 minutes from now).

The Ron Paul delegates are being very immature, they're trying so hard to make sure Barack Obama is re-elected.  I'm glad Ron Paul is a whole lot more civil than his supporters.
