Keystone Phil   Abrasive. Arrogant. Selfish. Hypocritical. Crap sense of humour. etc., etc.; but I actually have a bit of a soft spot for him. Kinda like one of my good mates, actually; although he's more focussed on sport then politics Wink. Flaw-oh so full of himself. Best-Doersn't really care what other people thinks and stands by his convictions, even if they're generally completely wrong Wink

I don't care if you think I am abrasive, arrogant, selfish, crap sense of humor, etc. (even though I don't believe that they accurately portray who I am) but don't you dare call me a hypocrite. I know you can't back it up either so shut the hell up.

Keystone Phil: he's fricking married to NixonNow and Rick Santorum

Ok so since I defend NixonNow and want him unbanned, I am now married to him? I guess I can't stick up for friends anymore.

Phil, I just bought your Christmas present.

I was just curious if standing up for a friend meant being married to them.

Keystone Phil- What can I say about the man whom was my Veep. A very clever and good debater. Always has the facts right and is a man who produces one-liners that are as good as the Gipper's himself! Unfortunately, he will never win a Presidential position because he seems arrogant and angry. He seems that he has contempt with those who share opposite opinions, though he does not. It's like Richard Nixon, a fairly kind and decent fellow who simply rubbed people the wrong way.

Thanks, PBrunsel. I am misunderstood. If I had a problem with everyone who had a disagreement with me then I wouldn't have half of the friends that I have now and wouldn't have a girlfriend who claims to be a socialist but I'm sure a handful of people who know my only through a political forum know me better.  Roll Eyes

Keystone Phil - Takes things far too seriously ("married to NixonNow" was obviously an exaggeration, how can anyone not see that?), also seems to hold a double standard in defending certain people no matter what they do while blasting others; I should probably prepare to get yelled at now.

I defend people like NixonNow and Mike Naso from unfair attacks but I have told them to grow up on many occassions.

A few points addressing the mostly uninformed opinions towards me:

1) Flyers, you want to call me rabidly partisan. Ok. Prove it to me once and for all. Show how I am a partisan hack.

2) Those who say I need to lighten up and take things way too seriously ought to spend a night in Teamspeak or talk to me off the forum. I am not as uptight as you think and guess what? I can even make fun of myself from time to time! I think if you ask John Ford how I was last night in Teamspeak, he'd tell you that I'm not some serious robotic asshole since I spent most of the time laughing.

3) Those who say I am a hypocrite need to back that point up, too.

It's just an opinion thread, lighten up, don't take it so seriously. Wink

Then why should I stick around? I like posting here but if everyone thinks I am uptight and thinks that I am that bad then why should I even post?

Flyers

Flyers is able to turn any discussions into why he can't get laid and can relate anything to Philadelphia politics. You'd think he was Vince Fumo or something.

I know! Then he says "Well I agree with people that you bring local stuff up way too much, Phil." I'm thinking to myself, "Is he serious?" He brings local stuff into it almost all of the time and they're pretty big stretches, too.

Keystone Phil - I just wish he didn't live in the PA-13

Same here.   Smiley

I'll lend it to you whenever you want to cry about something from PA being brought up.

Sheesh, maybe you really do need to lighten up.

joke

n 1: a humorous anecdote or remark intended to provoke laughter

If people think I need to lighten up so often then maybe I should try to stop posting here. If everything is going to be a complaint then why bother?

Don't do that Phil.  Just listen to what people are telling you.  If you plan a future political career, their advice will definitely help.

It's my dream to get elected to public office but I'm beginning to see how that might not happen (beyond something like committeeperson). I just don't know what else to do with some people on here. I am not as uptight as some will say and I'm not this major asshole either. I'm tired of hearing it, too, so all I was saying is that maybe I should leave. That's all.

Ok, I'm gonna say this in plain, simple terms in big, bold letters - I WAS JOKING. IT WAS A JOKE. IT WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT WAS MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, BUT YOU TOOK IT SERIOUSLY ANYWAYS.

It wasn't what you said.

Then you shouldn't have responded to what I said like that. Roll Eyes

It wasn't what you said that made me feel that way.

Keystone Phil - I truely believe that he takes forum talk entirely too serious.  I can picture Phil punching holes in his wall after engaging in a debate with myself, Scoonie, and other 'hacks'.  Just an FYI, when Phil starts throwing around the insults... You have won the debate.

This is exactly what I mean. No, I doubt punch holes in my wall because of the stupidity that is thrown around here.

As for being "too defensive" of Santorum, I think the real problem here is that people have a problem with me defending the man. I'm not being too defensive when I give the whole story.

What? The fact that I responded to John? I knew he was kidding but chose to address the other posts by quoting his. I wanted people to know that while I can live with John joking, there are people out there who do not (someone as annoying as yourself, KEmperor. Someone who is twenty-something years old yet gets more kicks out of making fun of teenagers than anything else is life).

If people are going to continue to call me uptight and bother me about that stuff even when I try to make them see otherwise then staying around here is beginning to lose its point.

Yeah right.  Didn't you say you want to move to Fitzpatrick's district?  Oh wait, now that's competitive!

I don't actually want to move from where I am to live there. I live right on the edge of the district so I'd like to get redrawn into PA 8 next time around.

I can't wait until you see the results from next year when Fitz kicks Murphy around. We'll see how much of a tossup it is.
