After passing the constitutional "law of force", the government has now started to force asylum seekers on 4 Austrian cities and another 11 mayors have been notified that asylum camps will be opened in their towns in the next days (no matter if the citizens/mayors consent to it or not) ...

That could also mean that a town of just 500 people could be the site of 100-200 asylum seekers soon and so on ...

The Austrian population is slowly being put under tutelage by our governing moral-apostles.

Handgun and rifle sales in Austria have "exploded" in recent weeks, as Austrians are storming gun shops accross the country during this asylum crisis.

After 18 years of falling handgun/rifle permits, Austrians have registered 60.000 new weapons in the past months alone and gun shop owners report record sales. Also, women are buying pepper spray and all kinds of defense stuff ...

...

Ugh, disgusting that this happens now. But I have warned you guys about these consequences of this silly uncontrolled mass immigration.

Stupid policies (supporting reckless, uncontrolled mass-immigration) leads to stupid reactions by some.

No surprises there ...

Meanwhile, the Salzburg town of Bergheim (population: 4.800) will become the new place of a mass asylum camp of 400 (!), after the Austrian government passed the "Law of Force" last month.

The SPÖVP government once said that every town will not have to take up asylum seekers worth more than 1.5% of the town population.

For Bergheim, this means that 8% of the population will be asylum seekers though ...

http://salzburg.orf.at/news/stories/2736944

...

Bavarian police are arresting 8 young, male asylum seekers at the Salzburg/Bavarian border, after they went through the Saalach river illegally into Germany. Police chased them through the woods until they gave up:

The 2016 budget was presented today in parliament.

Costs for asylum will rise to 1.5 billion € next year (up from 150 million € two years ago and up from 500 million this year).

Every asylum seeker "costs us" 11.000€ a year for basic assistance + another 5000€ a year for integration matters such as German courses (there will be 85.000 asylum seekers in total).

(as a comparison, the typical Austrian retired woman/man with minimum pension gets 820€ a month, for a total of 11.000€ a year - after having paid into the system for 40-45 years).

For Germany, just multiply these numbers by 10-15 ...

Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto says to AP, that the Hungarians will close their border to Croatia from midnight today.

Apparently, these cards are now given to refugees in the Turkey region in case Hungary and Croatia close their borders for good:

Tragic and sad.

But this is exactly the stuff I tried to warn you about. This silly, reckless mass immigration policy "stresses" the native population unnecessarily and makes them agitated. That is why I favour the common sense policy of only letting in the number of migrants the system is designed for, while directing the surplus immigrants to their airport so they can board a plane that takes them home from where they came from (or nearby).

Cry me a river. Clearly racist first-worlders are the people we should sympathize with.

Those damn racists need to have their votes drowned out!

Yes.

So you are not even trying anymore to hide the fact that you are in essence a Left-Fascist ?

By throwing the whole native citizen population of Europe into the "racist pot" and wanting their votes and voices be drowned out ?

The very people who elected our politically correct leaders (Merkel, Faymann & Co) and not the millions of (illegal) migrants who line up at the borders of countries they pick and choose to get welfare from ?

And only your views are counting anymore ? The posters with the (S) avatar are finally showing their true faces ... Roll Eyes

Sorry if I don't sympathize too much with the plight of people who feel entitled to their privileges just because they were born in a certain place and have a certain religion/skin color, and want to deny those privileges to the rest of the world because muh homeland.

They are entitled to these privileges because they worked hard to establish these welfare systems, contrary to the millions who are now lining up at the border and want to enjoy these goodies too.

I, as any decent person, stand with the unprivileged and the downtrodden.

Me too, but I want them solved in the countries of origin of these people - where they belong.

If we are letting them in by the millions, we not only have to try and solve their problems at home, but they also bring their problems with them to us and we eventually have to solve their problems here as well.

Didn't they come to Europe to escape violence and destruction?

Yes, and instead some have nothing better to do than torching tents offered to them by "bad, 3rd world Slovenia", because ... well ... "CAN'T WAIT, MUST GO TO PROMISED LAND GERMANY IMMEDIATELY !"

Ordinary, hard-working, common-sense Europeans are just shaking their heads at these pictures and at the violent mobs who bring their war with them.

I'm sceptical of the idea that a large migration would undermine the welfare state. The welfare states of Europe subsidise the elderly, for the most part, not the sort of twenty-somethings that apparat to make up the bulk of this wave.

It's okay to be highly critical of it, that's a ideological choice you can make. Especially when you use the word migration. Because a Polish plumber give a surplus, a Indian IT worker also give one, a Nigerian doctor is a surplus too. A unskilled or semi-skilled don't give any surplus to any state with a functional welfare state, especially not if they're refugees. The Danish office of statistics keep an eye on both crime and employment rate of immigrant groups, and there the Muslim group with the highest employment rate (age 30-60) are Turks with 53,1 (versus a ethnic Danish rate of 82,3) refugees have a much lower employment rate with Somalians having a employment rate of 27,6 and Syrians the lowest one at 22,8 (and in these numbers new refugees are not counted).
Non-Muslim immigrants all have a higher employment rate.

Second generation have a significant under employment too, with Turks again scoring best with only 16,5 percent points under employement (age 20-39), while Libanese (Palestinians) score the worst with 41,2 under employment. As comparison Poles lies the lowest with 2,4 while among European immigrants British descendent score the worst with 11,3 under employement.

As criminality (all types from speeding to murder) Muslims overrepresented (even if we look at social economic status). From Bosniaks who score best at 118 (111) to Lebanese who score the worst at 308 (254). Of course a interesting aspect here is that among Muslims immigrants are more criminal than refugees (with the Lebanese and Somalians as the exceptions). It can best be seen at Pakistanian 202 (179) vs. Afghans 145 (123) or Yugoslavs 217 (192) vs. Bosniaks 118 (111).

As for EU immigrants they all score lower than native Danes 95 (98), which seem weird when East Europeans are overrepresented in Danish prisons, but this is because crime by these groups are mostly commited by visiting criminal not immigrants.

Phillipines, Indians and Chinese have the lowest rates of all at around 50 for all three groups.

Thanks for posting these statistics.

In Austria and Germany, authorities in recent years have moved to abolish the classification of crime or homicide statistics by citizenship.

Until about 10 years ago, the crime report would read "foreigners committed x% of murders" and "citizens committed x% of crime" and so on.

Now, they decided to just publish overall numbers on crime because breaking it down by foreigners/citizens is "too politically incorrect".

The last numbers available before the censorship showed that foreigners in Austria committed 30-40% of the murders, while only making up 10% of the population during the timespan.

The biggest group of foreign suspects in criminial cases in Austria: Germans
While making up only about 2% of the population, 4% of suspects from January to June 2015 were German citizens.

That's a terrible comparison, mostly because of the 60 million Germans visiting Austria annually. They sometimes steal some skis or snowboards etc.

And then you have for example 10.000 Chechens or Afghans here and you hear reports about killings, shootouts etc. on a weekly basis.

So of the 38 murders in Austria 2014, about fifty were committed by Afghans and Chechens?

Roll Eyes

No, please read again what I wrote. I did not write exclusively about murders ...

And it does not change the fact that foreigners are responsible for 40% of murder cases here - despite "only" making up 12% of the population. Btw, murder cases are between 120-200 each year in Austria, not 38 as you posted - because they also include attempted murder cases. The 38 you posted are the murder cases in which the victim ended up dead.

The run to the gun shops continues:

Shotguns have 'virtually sold out' in Austria as citizens rush to buy arms amid fears of a massive influx of migrants, dealers claim

Weapon sales are soaring in Austria as citizens of the small Alpine nation become paranoid over the numbers of refugees crowding into their country.

In a country of 8.5 million people, there are now an estimated 900,000 firearms in homes.

And gun dealers report that it is women driving the sales rush. This year alone, police say 70,000 guns have been sold.

'Virtually all shotguns are currently sold out, because you need no permit for them', said Thomas Ortner, spokesman for an arms dealer in Upper Austria.

For every other type of weapon, a licence is required.

Licence courses, in which applicants must demonstrate knowledge of firearms, used to take place every five weeks but they are now held weekly because of spiking demand.

In cities like Salzburg, a line of people outside the necessary government office to get the paperwork to buy a gun is now an everyday sight.

Broadcasters and local media say the numbers of refugees - coupled with a fear of break-ins as a result - is fuelling the arms race.

'Because of the social change, people want to protect themselves,' one arms dealer told the broadcaster oe.24. He said 'many women' were among his customers.

The flood of 'refugees' into Austria is continuing without interruption.

Interior Minister Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP) said "some-kind-of-fence" will be built on the Slovenian border:

Austria plans 'technical barriers' on Slovenian border in migrant crisis

Austria will build "technical barriers" on its border with Slovenia to help control the flow of thousands of migrants crossing daily into Austrian territory, its interior minister said on Tuesday.

Over 680,000 asylum seekers fleeing war and deprivation in the Middle East, Africa and Asia have poured into Europe this year, with Slovenia and Austria currently bearing the brunt of a migrant tide along a corridor northwestwards from the Balkans.

"I have commissioned plans for special construction measures," Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner told reporters, according to Austria's APA news agency.

"The situation here is especially dynamic. We've had between 3,000 and 8,000 people crossing the border (a day). But we also need to prepare ourselves (in case numbers rise) to 12,000."

Mikl-Leitner, who was speaking to reporters at the Spielfeld border crossing with Slovenia, offered no details or time frame for the new measures. The interior ministry had no immediate comment on her remarks when contacted by Reuters for details.

Earlier on Tuesday the premier of the German state of Bavaria criticized neighboring Austria for failing to coordinate a tide of migrants into southern Germany even as he renewed a challenge to German Chancellor Angela Merkel over her management of the refugee crisis.

Slovenia said on Tuesday that about 14,500 migrants were currently in the tiny Alpine state, hoping to continue their journey to Austria later in the day or on Wednesday. More were on their way to Slovenia from Croatia.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/27/us-europe-migrants-austria-idUSKCN0SL2JW20151027

...

Sry, but building "some-kind-of-fence" won't help and protecting the border "some-kind-of" won't either.

Either you do it Hungarian-style (where no migrant is setting foot into anymore), or you do it not at all.

Our politicians are totally clueless, spineless and directionless.

500-1.000 people from the "Democratic Middle" (or Center) held a (peaceful) protest today in Spielfeld, which is the main migrant entry town on the Austrian/Slovenian border (3.000-10.000 migrants are crossing the border into Austria there every day):

Meanwhile, the backlog of migrants is getting more and more serious at the Upper Austrian/Bavarian border, because 5.000-10.000 people arrive there every day, but the Bavarians are only letting in 200 people per hour.

Therefore it was decided that 3 huge tents are being built in the Innviertel region (Braunau, Ried, Schärding) to house 1.000 migrants each, which voted FPÖ by 40-45% in the past month (oh, the irony).
