Update: Moved to
https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=107626.0Let's say come 2016, these are the candidates in the race (yes, some aren't in these positions in real life, yet). Obama narrowly wins a second term. All troops are out of Iraq and only a small force is left in Afghanistan. Iraq is a mess, as democracy doesn't work there on it's own. Afghanistan is a bit better, but the Taliban are coming back in the east as the US withdraws. Obama's approval is at 41% and the DOW hangs a little under 11,000. The deficit has tripled since Obama took office. The public option is a mess and the GOP retook control of both houses overwhelmingly in 2014, though they got control of the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2012. Unemployment went down after 2010, but is now back up to 9.6%.
By the time of the first elections, everyone has a decent amount of ID. For the simulation's sake, I've decided not to include anyone that probably is going to run in 2012, except for Gary Johnson, as we know will not win the nomination, but may pick up steam and more for 2016 with a base.
I will continue to update the race, election results and the election map as we continue through the simulation. If anyone wants to post some story or "news" interview, feel free to do so. Also, polling will be included.
We will start with Iowa.
CandidatesBob McDonnell (Fmr-Governor of Virginia)
Mike Cox (Governor of Michigan)
Gary Johnston (Fmr-Governor of New Mexico)

Marco Rubio (Senator Florida)
