Gingrich now leads among Tea Party supporters.

Romney is now back in the lead on RCP's running average of all national polls, though just 0.4% ahead of Cain:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html

And the last two national polls (this one and CBS) average to:

Romney 19%
Cain 17.5%
Gingrich 17%

How long before we start getting polls with Gingrich leading?

Starting next week. Whoever watches the Saturday debate will see clearly that Newt would fit best as President national security wise, remember the President's main job in the first place was foreign policy. And it will allow for polls that poll all from post-Perry debate fall. So he'll be leading next week unless he screws up Saturday.

Keep an eye out for a new NBC poll which will be revealed on Sunday on Meet The Press. After the latest Cain allegations and the Perry Brain Fart, they decided to go back into the field even though their last poll is just a week old.

There was something of a delayed reaction when Perry said the "heartless" comment until he fell and it looks the same thing is going on with Cain.  The first few polls after the allegations broke showed him untouched but those in this week show a drop.  When Cain drops a little more which feels like it'll be any day now, Gingrich could very likely lead a national poll.  Jesus.  Wonder if he'll lead an Iowa poll.  With the way this race is going, he might actually be taking the lead a month earlier than he wants to.

I feel sorry for the ironic Cain supporters.
