Does Florida's Resign-to-Run law prevent Rubio from getting it?

Christie might have some interest in it, but I think he'd prefer to be at the top of the ticket when it comes down to it.

Otherwise, I think Thune, McDonnell, Portman, or Daniels would make the most sense for Romney.

I'm convinced that Gingrich would pick a Hispanic, and I think he'd kind off need to have a woman on the ticket to help his image. Martinez strikes me as the default choice for him.

I think that a good choice would be John Hoeven, because he has a strong executive experience and can help a lot in Iowa that can be a decisive state. Butch Otter, in my opinion, would be a running mate that would unite Romneynites and Paulites behind Gingrich, although he would be somewhat unpopular with base due to his opposition to Patriot Act.

Since the odds on Newt are rising pretty high these days.

I'll throw one out that while not probable has a pretty decent chance(given Newt's style), Gov. Luis Fortuno. Look it up.
He is not necessarily a Republican.

Are you serious? He is Republican Governor. A member of the Republican party. He is a member of the RNC. And he has probably cut spending by a percentage equal to practically all other Republican governors in the country combined and now the economy is starting to boom.
Puerto-Rico Republicans are a different animal.

The base isn't going to be happy with a Mexican.

Going from the hockey mom from Alaska in 2008 to the soccer Hispanic from Puerto Rico in 2012? Really?

Ludicrous pandering that would completely backfire once again.

Not Fortuno though!

Martinez would be a lot more pandering than Fortuno. At least Luis has a very, very strong record that puts most GOP governors to shame.

I have hear da lot about Gov Fortuno... maybe Wonkish is on to something as usual

Thune would be dull but dull is better then damaging. Rubio is too inexperienced, and I believe McDonnell is too-

Maybe Jon Kyl or Tom Coburn... conservative, reliable, experienced senators

Paul/Fortuno
Paul/Daniels
Paul/Lee

Romney/DeMint
Romney/Thune
Romney/(Rand) Paul

Gingrich/Lee
Gingrich/Christie
Ginrich/(Rand) Paul

I don't think Huntsman stand much of a chance, but some apparently do (maybe not on this forum), so here it goes:

Huntsman/Barbour
Huntsman/Christie
Huntsman/DeMint

Junior Senator from Utah

It would be a appeal from Gingrich to Paul supporters without being Rand Paul obvious about it.

Mike Lee, that'd be a good pick, though I don't know enough about him. He's a tea partyer which helps all the Paul voters, but he's not famous so he won't alienate the moderates.
