In 1960, in a surprise upset, a grass roots movement gives the Democratic Presidential nomination to 1952 and 1956 nominee former Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson, for an incredible third time, passing over the young and charismatic Massachusetts Senator John F Kennedy and the powerful Senate Majority Leader, Lyndon B Johnson of Texas.

Stevenson thanks the convention for putting their trust in him, and vows to lead them to victory, after eight years of Republican ineptitude and failed policies.

Stevenson picks the most powerful Democrat in the U.S. Senate, Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B Johnson of Texas for Vice President.

On the Republican side, Vice President Richard Nixon of California wins the Presidential nomination easily, as expected.  He picks U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and former Massachusetts Senator Henry Cabot Lodge as his running mate.

Nixon vows to build on the progress, innovation, fiscal responsibility, and world leadership of the Eisenhower/Nixon years.

How does this 1960 election go, with Stevenson given one last opportunity to win the Presidency?
