I am doing a personal research and I have come upon something that I am not finding evidence for. It has been reputed by several in my search that the Federalist Party believed that only the wealthiest and most educated should govern. However I cannot find any evidence that confirms this "belief". Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Not trying to start any debate over the question just want to find something that confirms this. I haven't found one yet.

Thanks much!!!

It seems Adams speaks more to the financial part, whereas Hamilton the educational. And, both are considered Federalist party leaders.

I am just reading a lot of misinformation, not sure that is the proper word since its is hard to judge whether or not the information is deliberately deceitful.

But again, thanks!!
