I have just arrived in Topeka, Harmony to provide support, assess the damage and most importantly meet with the families of victims.

Just came to the realization that we need to have a special election for Archduke, as we have not had one since I became Governor. The race will run parallel with the Althing elections starting on March 19th. I hope we can get a competitive race for this position.

No one in the Midwest wants to run for Archduke?

Couple things:

1) If you are a Midwest citizen, please go vote!!!
2) I'd like to thank Foucaulf and Tyrion for running for Archduke. Good to know that position will be in good hands after the election.
3) To those planning on voting for Libertarian Socialist Democrat for a Representative in the Althing, he has been inactive for over a month. His election would almost automatically result in his expulsion, an appointment by me and a special election. So please vote for other Midwesterners that are running for the Althing. Thanks!

As the one who first addressed the Lib Soc Dem issue, I thank you and congratulate you for this advice given to your fellow Midwesterners, Governor Gass. And let's hope Lib Soc Dem comes back to activity again someday too Smiley

Zen Lunatic is Lib Soc Dem. He was locked out of his old account, he said so once in the What-ifs thread a while back.

Dave can merge the two accounts. OF course not contacting Leip can also result in both accounts being banned for socking.

The Lib Soc Dem no longer exists (multiple attempts by multiple people to message him yielded an error of "This user does not exist"), so presumably it was either merged or deleted after he created a new account.

Congrats to Tyrion on his election to Archduke and Brewer, Dereich, and Fuzzybigfoot on their election to the Althing. Please swear in as soon as you can! I look forward to working with you all!

I apologize for not getting the voting booth open for the Archduke special election on time, real life work has been crazy for me this week. The voting booth will be open the full 5 days of a normal Midwest Regional election. Hopefully we get someone to run a write-in campaign for Archduke, we sure could use somebody.

I have not been able to be as active as I'd like to be as Governor this term. In real life I am finally starting to get some consistent work, which is taking away from my time here. Therefore I will not be running for reelection for Governor.

However, I feel like there needs to greater activity in the Althing and while I will be too busy to fulfill the duties of Governor, I know I could help increase the activity there. So I will be running for election as a Representative in the Althing.

I would like to briefly step out of my long vacation to declare my support for the new constitution and to commend everyone that was involved with the convection. Observing from a distance, I could see how much time and effort the folks involved in the convention put into the creation of the document. Thank you for helping to save the game!

Tonight, I formally declare my intention to run for the Northern Assembly. As a former Senator, Governor, and regional legislator, I have right experience to help get the Northern Region started right.

My main priorities include:

1. Moving some governmental functions and institutions to more centralized/western locations.
2. Ensuring the equality of all areas of the region.
4. Increasing the minimum wage to $15 dollars a hour.
3. Pursing an aggressive agenda to protect workers and union rights in the region, including measures to protect collective bargaining, eliminating right to work laws, card check, and tax incentives for businesses/corporations that put union leaders into management/leadership.
4. Implementing a free birth control program similar to Colorado.
5. Funding increase for Planned Parenthood of the North.
6. Legalization of Marijuana.
7. Implementing a transportation plan that will help connect the two historical sections of our region.
8. Helping to establish regional symbols that are representative of the entire region.
9. Implementing a clean energy plan to move the region away from fossil fuels.
10. Creation of the Regional Bank of the North to explicitly help chronically economic disadvantaged areas structurally improve their cities.
I am open to any questions folks my have!

1. Moving the regional capital to a more centralized location. New York City is an unacceptable.
You realise that this would require a [constitutional amendment] referendum on a subject we've just had a referendum on?

I realize it's a uphill battle, but something needs to be be done to correct this mistake. It might have to be a more gradual process.

Endorsed! We need men in the Assembly who will actually campaign in public, instead of engaging in shadowy cloakroom negotiations.

I have a question; would you be willing to accept a compromise that increases Planned Parenthood's funding, but restricts their ability to preform abortions?
