They used to be a Republican voting block, electing Rudy Giuliani, Al D'Amato, and George Pataki in NY, Christie Whitman, Chris Christie in NJ, Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist and Rick Scott in FL, Richard Burr, Elizabeth Dole, Pat McCrory in NC.
