Todd Akin and Richard Murdock are two examples of people with stuff in their head that is factual insanity.

There are millions of republicans in rural communities that believe in complete hogwash. Akin/Murdoch would be no where near public office if we had people educated properly.

if people are not being educated properly then it's a waste of tax payers money. Teachers need to be questioned - why are children leaving school as young adults believing things that are not true?

we have mobile tablets. we have information at a click of the button but millions still believe in things that are not factually true. and thats why we get idiots like akin/murdoch.

Todd Akin was born in NYC & raised in St. Louis...

Perhaps another hypothesis is in order.

Your underlying assumption, of course, is that teachers in rural areas are teaching things that aren't factually true.

Some people believe things because they want to believe them, regardless of what they've been taught.

I actually have to give some props to rural schooling.  The linked report is two and a half years told, but it shows high school graduation rates in rural schools at 73%, only 1% below the graduation rates from suburban high schools and 14% higher that graduation rates from urban high schools.  In the last half-century, rural high schools, in terms of high school graduation rates, have completely turned the tables on urban high schools.  So, as far as I'm concerned, to hell with unfitting stereotypes and three cheers for rural high schools.

Nah, it's more fun to act all superior to the country bumpkins and hicks.
