A surplus of 53 Billion vs a deficit of 1.19 Billion last December. Payments from Fannie and Freddie of $34 billion were part of the story.  For the first three months of the fiscal year the deficit was 173.6B vs 293.3B last fiscal year.

That's a 40% decline.  Wonder what % of the public knows that.  Maybe five percent?

Good news, but I doubt it'll be covered by most news networks.

probably because the deficit isn't an issue.

Well sure, to informed people it isn't, but to the average person? It's somehow an issue.

Plus, the surplus could be used on funding needed programs.

If the trend of the first 3 months continues over the year, the US could have a budget deficit of 2.3-2.5% this year, down from 4.1% in the last FY.

This would be the first time the budget deficit drops to pre-crisis levels.

Outstanding, when should we see those national debt counters reversing, running the opposite direction of that what they are now?

A ? aside of the premise, kind of. Shouldn’t the OMB be responsible for the stats of Obama caring rather than democrat operative’s? Their story today is 9M enrolled when fact checker’s says at best there may be 400,000 with less than 25% of them paying full freight or some part of.
