I am going to make a bold prediction here that won't be tested for years but:

The first minority president in United States history will be:

Gov. Bobby Jindal

In 2016, the election is as follows:

Jindal/Rell v. Strickland/Webb

I think that Richardson or Obama is more likely to beat him.

That would be a tough ticket too. I would normally go ahead and vote for Strickland/Webb, but I would want to send a vote to Rell.

2008:
Fred Thompson / Rudy Guiliani (R) defeats Hillary Clinton / John Edwards (D)

2012:

Barack Obama / Stephanie Herseth (D) defeats Fred Thompson / Rudy Guiliani (R)

2016:

Bobby Jindal /  Mike Rounds (R) defeats Barack Obama / Stephanie Herseth (D)

2020 / beyond: unknown. However, before 2032 a third party candidate will make it to the White House.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jindal was elected to higher office any time soon. I did see him on FOX News critizing that Lousiana Congressman, Jefferson or what's his name and he seemed like the GOP's type of man that could take them to future glory.

You really believe that no one new will come on scene between now and 2020 and shake things up a bit?  Jim DeMint and John Cornyn?  You've got to be kidding me.

It's not impossible he'd have a future in the long run, especially if O'Malley screws up big. He's still young enough that he could win the Governorship in 2010 or 2014, then run for President or Vice-President in 2020.

That said, I don't see Jindal/Steele as a likely ticket for the Republicans, mainly because you won't see any non-white monoracial tickets anytime soon. I'm thinking Jindal/Rell would be a tough-to-beat ticket in, say, 2012 or 2016, mainly because it would be a fairly moderate and effective ticket with most demographic bases covered. They, especially Jindal, just need a touch more seasoning, and perhaps selling their souls off to special interests like they all do, first.

2008
Clinton/Richardson vs. Thompson/Huckabee
Clinton/

298 Electoral Votes to 240

2012
Clinton/Richardson vs. Thompson/Jindal
Thompson/Jindal

287 to 251

2016
Thompson/Jindal vs. Warner/Schweitzer
Warner/Schweitzer

2020
Steele/Kirke vs. Warner/Schweitzer
Warner/Schweitzer
Same but with Texas, South Carolina, Idaho, and Kansas going for the Democrats.

2024
Palin/DeMint vs. Herseth/Villagrosa
Herseth/Villagrosa.

Yeah, I know 2024 is a really wierd election, but it is a re-aligning one effectivley morphing the Democrats into a Latino/Immigrant/Populist party vs. the Republicans, who are now a Liberitarian/Anti-Immigrant party.

Steele could never win in Maryland.  First of all, O'Malley is doing quite well here.  Second, people dislike Steele because his campaign did'nt show any of his good works, instead focusing on Cardin's bad ones.
