How is this anti-science? Climate Change is basic science which every intelligent educated person should understand.

Incredible effort. Congrats to all the protesters & people like Bernie Sanders, Mark Ruffalo, Shailene  Woodley & many other politicians & celebs who got their hands dirty in the ground by visiting Standing Rock, doing rallies throughout the country.

Also shows how clueless progressive Democrats are - Sanders literally led this on his own. Warren only endorsed this 1 or 2 days before Obama's decision after weeks of prodding.

Even Tulsi Gabbard supported online & went to Standing Rock to express support. That is why I have been saying the progressive left has no leader of the stature of Bernie!

The Native-American Indians have been backed into the furthest corner that they can possibly be backed into. There is nowhere else for them to go.
When people say things like this it makes me wonder if they are using the words metaphorically or if they actually think Native Americans are forced to live on reservations.

Well, I guess they can agree to lose their heritage and identity, and stop believing in the spiritual nature of life and Mother Earth and how to live in harmony with her, and embrace the white man's crude idea of civilization which includes raping the earth of its precious resources and stealing land that belongs to someone else etc.... Yes they have a choice to assimilate, but it's really no choice when their belief system is so completely on a different plane of reality from one that wants to destroy our "home".
Yeah, staying on the Res or completely trashing their heritage are the only two options....my bad.  Roll Eyes

(and this may shock you, but Natives fought, killed, raped and ....wait for it, took each other's land for many thousands of years before pale face showed up)

Economics is also a basic subject every intelligent person should understand, even if they disagree on whether it is a science. Whether or not this pipeline is built will not affect how much fossil fuel consumers use, so the impact on climate change is effectively nil, and probably positive since less energy is needed to transport oil by pipeline than the alternatives.

Geology is more clearly a science, and it is safer to have a pipeline cross a major river at a static lake rather than where the river is actually flowing. From the standpoint of geology, crossing the Missouri at the northern tip of Lake Oahe makes the most sense of the alternatives.
