No surprise, liberals have been pushing war-like rhetoric against Russia and China for a while.

Tariffs aren't war-like. But it is mainly hawks who don't like that Trump will be meeting with Kim Jung Un.
Warren tweeted this on friday despite all the efforts from China, DPRK and ROK to ensure peace at the peninsula (meanwhile classless christofascist Mike Pence had that embarrassing posture at the Olympics, but then, I don't expect respect from fascists).

ROK sent artists to perform at the DPRK yesterday and Kim made his first international visit ever and talked to Xi but Warren comes with warmonger clintonite rhetoric, won't feel bad if people call her pocahontas from now on.

Tariffs are economic nationalism, which is tantamount to declaring war, especially these targeted ones. After all, you can't declare total war if your economy is dependent on somebody else.

Tariffs that are maybe 1% of total trade with a country are equivalent to declaring war? LOL. I bet even historical anti-tariff politicians like William Jennings Bryan supported more tariffs than that.

Yeah because now we have progressive ways to source revenue - income taxes, CGT, wealth taxes etc.

If you seriously think the American establishment preparing for conflict with China is done out of progressivism, you're super naïve.

We should have tariffs on any country that doesn't have reasonable labor or environmental standards.
So will America impose tariffs on itself? Nothing more capitalist than the lack of labor and environmental standards.
