1. Biden must not have been as successful as people were hoping. Perhaps Afghanistan combined with other controversial choices must've hurt him.
2. A second tea-party era. libertarian wave must've influenced the GOP, rejecting the Hawley/Carlson wing of the party, although Trump-style populism wasn't rejected.
3. Covid-19 continued and people must've gotten more sick and tired of the regulations.
4. Female progressives are angry that Kristi and not Hillary became the first female president.

My guess is Biden won the NPV but narrowly lost the EC. The GOP continues to gain with lower education voters causing NV to flip, but Dems hold enough higher education voters to hold places like NH.

The only way I can see this map as a reality is if covid is still a pandemic in 2024.

I could see this map with Harris, but not Biden unless the economy is really bad.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was. It's probably more likely than not at this point.

I think GA, AZ, and (especially) NE-2 suggest that Republican gains were heavily concentrated in the suburbs.  Biden probably went too far with some policy that made suburbanites mad.  Combining that with the lack of a Trump on the ballot was enough to flip some of these areas back.
