Sounds like a classic Dem voter of course. I think she would have been a firm Sandersite this year since she doesn't make as much money and is queer/alt-adjacent (though I can see the argument for Warren) but I'm going to go out on a limb and say she was a #woke Clinton voter.

Gender: Male
Age: 69
Ethnicity: White, Basque and English ancestry
Relationship Status: Single; divorced
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Hometown: Kuna, ID
Residence: Unincorporated Owhyee County, ID
Occupation: McDonald's Franchise Owner, small-time rancher
Income: $65,000 a year
Education: Dropped out of University of San Francisco
Religion: Was raised Catholic, converted to Mormonism for marriage; now a jack Mormon
Hobbies/Interests: U.S. Fiscal Policy (big believer in Balanced-Budget amendment), Hunting, Fishing, Facebook
Other Information: Former prison-guard; lived in the Bay Area for a while in the 60s and 70s; Was deeply involved in Tea Party activism in the early 2010s but less politically involved these days.

The party isn't much of a guess, but the primary might be more interesting.

@Nathan thanks haha. I haven't seen her since 2011 (she was a senior when I was a freshman in HS) but I reconnected with her on FB. She is one of the very HS crushes whose politics isn't obvious from their bio (given many of them are bisexual, if not nonbinary). She is a registered Republican but didn't like either Hillary or Trump in 2016 and hasn't posted much on FB recently.

Obviously a very conservative Republican. Supported Ted Cruz in the primaries but backed Trump in the general out of hatred for Hillary Clinton and became a full-fledged enthusiast him after Kavanaugh's appointment. Nowadays an ardent opponent of Covid related lockdowns and advocated of election fraud theories.

Gender: Female
Age: 55
Ethnicity: White (English, has ancestors from the Mayflower)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Residence: Chester, Vermont
Hometown: Haverhill, Massachusetts
Religion: Congregationalist (Evangelical/theologically conservative wing NOT UCC)
Relationship Status: Married, three children aged 16 to 23
Profession: Cranberry/Dairy Farmer, contributes columns to local newspaper
Education: BA in French and History from Amherst College
Income: 45,000 dollars/year
Interests: Literature, Local History/Geneaology, Theology, Baking, Birdwatching, Geology, Korean dramas (introduced to it by her daughter)
Other: -Generally supportive of lockdown measures but upset at its uneven application (ie BLM protests often being given seeming approval but not church services)
-Met Bernie Sanders a few times in person at campaign rallies and liked him personally, regardless of political beliefs
-Believes in biblical inerrancy and the exclusivity of Christianity (ie that one cannot go to Heaven without being a Christian), though she considers Catholics to be Christians if in theological error
-Very proud of her ancestry and heritage, especially her family's military service in the Revolutionary and American Civil Wars. Occasionally debates with neo Confederate apologists online. Also very interested in Puritan theology as well as that of their Calvinist successors such as Jonathan Edwards.

1. I don't think I would go along well with this person at all.
2. Interests and theological leanings suggest easily a Republican, but I would guess that she dislikes Trump and that she voted for some random third party both in 2016 and 2020. Also communitarian-ish.

Speaking of people I don't go along well with, here's one.
Gender - Female
Age - 65
Ethnicity - Italian
Religion - Atheist (and fairly anti-clerical)
Relationship status - Lives with her partner, she usually calls him her "husband" as a shorthand but they're not actually married
Education - Graduate in English Language and Literature
Occupation - High school English teacher
Hometown - Somewhere in Northern Italy
Current location - Somewhere nearby La Spezia, Italy
Hobbies - Endurance horse riding, pets in general, food
Other things of note:
Lived in New York for a period
Quite loudly animalist and feminist
Big supporter of the death penalty
Weirdly apologetic of British colonialism

It's fairly obvious what relationship I have/had with this person.

Moderate Republican, Socially liberal/economically centrist and tough on crime. Initially a #NeverTrumper who cast a protest vote for Gary Johnson in 2016 but reluctantly voted for Trump in 2020 (after having considered a Biden vote) due to a dislike of BLM.

Almost certainly a Five Star Movement supporter, if not, an ardent supporter of Emma Bonino.

Lol. She was my high school English teacher and I don't think you got particularly close to the mark. She always struck me as the type who'd consider M5S bumbling idiots and she isn't remotely left-wing at all. I'm pretty sure she votes Lega.

Asenath Waite's character is horrifyingly fascinating. She sounds deep into 16th century Ireland LARPing and she probably doesn't vote at all. I would guess she has a hard dose of nationalism and old-time nostalgia, dislikes muh political correctness / social-justice-warrior-ism, and has inconsistent but quasi-distributist, quasi-feudalist economic views. Probably also strongly against abortion and disturbed by the 2018 Irish referendum. If she does vote it's random minor parties in the United States and, if applicable, random minor parties in Ireland as well, but would vote Sinn Féin in Northern Ireland because Tiocfaidh ár lá.

Next hypothetical person:
Gender - Male
Age - 20
Race (Ethnicity) - Asian (Filipino)
Sexual orientation - Heterosexual
Relationship status - Has a girlfriend
Religion - Agnostic (raised in a semi-practicing Catholic household)
Current location/Hometown - Madison, WI
Education - High school graduate
Occupation - Studying Physics at UW-Madison
Interests - Classic rock music, crosswords, physics memes, browsing porn websites (hides the latter to everyone else)
Other -
Low-key abusive towards his girlfriend
Has a wide array of weird sexual fetishes and is in self-denial about all of them
Has repeatedly considered giving up college

I think Asenath's character is almost certainly pro-abortion even if not for liberal pro-choice reasons considering most pre-Christian societies such as Classical Rome/Greece, pre-modern China, India etc. tolerated not just abortion but even infanticide in some cases. I had your previous person tagged as a 19th Century liberal btw, but felt she'd be on the secular right nowadays.

I think your character is mostly apolitical but goes on 4chan/gamer type sites often enough that he probably voted Trump this year, after flirting with Andrew Yang in the primaries. Could be a potential recruit for the Proud Boys.

Movie character

Gender: Male
Age: 61
Ethnicity: White (English, German)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Residence: Torrance, CA
Hometown: Peoria, IL
Religion: Methodist (mostly an occasionally churchgoer for most of his life, became more devout for reasons listed below)
Relationship Status: Married, has an adult daughter in her early 30s.
Profession: Freelance writer, has published three novels and a memoir
Education: BA in Philosophy
Income: 50,000 dollars/year
Interests: Literature, Fitness (especially weight lifting), Video Games, Automobiles, Hiking, Alcohol, Marijuana
Other: -Had an unusual midlife crisis about 20 years ago that involved (among other things) an affair with a high school classmate of his daughter and barely surviving getting shot by a neighbour which he "credits" for revitalizing his love for life
-Was previously a magazine executive but found the job unfulfilling

Gotta disagree with the above answer--Mori Kogoro seems like such a "city guy" that it's hard to see him voting R.

Yeah, but I don't know what the Celts thought exactly, and her interests overlap with a Christian period as well, although I remember Nathan once mentioning medieval Irish saints legends where the miracle performed by the saint... is a termination of pregnancy. She mostly sounds like someone who'd have very few positions that are 'liberal' or 'modernist' - which indeed on abortion means pretty much either mine or your description.

And it's funny that you mention 19th century liberalism because my English teacher actually seemed to be fond of Disraelite One Nation Conservatism.

Your character is I guess Lester Burnham of American Beauty in the alternate world where he survives the gunshot.
It's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world...
I have no idea what his politics before the crisis were, but I would think that since then his views have been some sort of conservative centrist who cares a lot about morality, hard to explain precisely but he gives me Kingpoleon and Ernest vibes. His recent voting record is consistently Democratic.

Someone else create the next person.

There are a few such stories from a very early period, yes. Later into the Middle Ages it's no longer attested.

Next person, based on someone I used to be friends with but no longer am:

Gender: Female
Age: 30
Race/ethnicity: Pashtun
Sexual orientation: Bisexual
Hometown: Cairns, Queensland
Current location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Religion: Semi-serious Muslim
Relationship status: Divorced a few years ago after cheating on her husband, perpetual string of shallow and non-exclusive relationships since then, identifies as "solo poly"
Education: BS in biology, working on a law degree
Occupation: Intern at a law firm and has extremely-on-Instagram simps who send her money
Interests and hobbies: Science fiction and fantasy, fashion, history, comparative religions, travel (pre-COVID), sports (is an Indianapolis Colts fan for some reason)
Other pertinent info: Is descended from Muhammad Ayub Khan.

Socially liberal, fiscally moderate Bloomberg Democrat. Probably supported someone like Pete Buttigieg in the primaries.

This one is based on a fictional character.

Hometown: Seoul, South Korea
Current location: New York, NY

Relationship status: In a relationship with a wealthy Korean woman
Education: High school graduate
Occupation: U.S. military officer

Asenath's character sounds like she might actually be the actual Asenath Waite! goodforher.gif

I actually thought about that! But I sidetracked. It'd be fair game since some days ago I used the original Battista Minola as character.

Your descendant of Ayyub Khan probably is either an obnoxious apologist of her ancestor and of all strongmen in the world who voted for Trump (twice?) or a shallow librul who follows every new #idpol and #woke trend of the day and votes solidly Democratic.

Damn I was jinxed.

Kuumo's definitely voted Biden in 2020 and I may see him as someone who started Republican but switched somewhere in the early 2010's. I am not sure. I don't know what fictional character he is.

Next hypothetical person:
Gender - Male
Age - 27
Race (Ancestry) - White (Dutch)
Sexual orientation - Heterosexual
Relationship status - Married (one son)
Hometown/Current location - Holland, Michigan
Religion - Calvinist (CRCNA)
Education - High school graduate
Occupation - Has started a craft brewery with his wife and a friend
Interests and hobbies - Reading classics, studying geography, composing poems, tulips, hiking, fountain pens
Other things of note -
He doesn't own a TV nor a mobile phone nor a PC.
He is not particularly attached to his denomination and considers his religious faith a very private matter.
He usually strongly objects to categorizing things like fashion accessories, hairstyles and toys as 'for men' and 'for women'.
He considers himself a pacifist.

Haven't watched the series, but pretty sure its the protagonist of Mr. Sunshine.

I would say he's an antiwar Christian pacifist and thus a Democrat, though he voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 due to disliking both Trump and Clinton. Voted for Biden this year after favouring Sanders in the primaries.

Independent who votes for some candidates of both parties. Definitely voted Joe Donnelly for Senate in 2012 and 2018, Eric Holcomb for Governor in 2020, and Biden for President in 2020. Probably backed Obama twice and did a write-in for President in 2016.

Bingo. It's difficult to determine how Eugene Choi would have voted in today's political climate since Mr. Sunshine takes place in the early 1900's and never mentions his political views in detail.

If she moved to Metro Boston at an early age and grew up there, she's most likely a Buttigieg/Warren/Sanders-type Democrat, but could conceivably be a PQG-type "moderate" Republican as well. Christian Indian Americans are more R and more culturally assimilationist than other Indian religious subgroups.

She might still be a Warren/Buttigieg-type Dem or a (non-QAnon) Republican if she's an international student, but I feel like the chances of her voting third party are much lower.

This person is a mashup of a few people I personally know and a Youtuber.

Sexual Orientation: Straight
Hometown: Guangzhou, China- immigrated to the US at age 8

Relationship status: in a long-term relationship (partner is Asian)
Occupation: Receptionist + freelance tarot card reader + freelance actress/dancer

Super obviously a Democrat. Prbably not especially political, but if so was probably a Sanders supporter for Woke-adjacent reasons.

Classic Gen X South Park Republican-socially indifferent but against Woke Culture and rather xenophobic on immigration, right-wing economically. Became an enthusiastic Trump supporter due to lockdowns during Covid.

More curious who my character supports at the provincial level

Your descendant of Ayyub Khan probably is either an obnoxious apologist of her ancestor and of all strongmen in the world who voted for Trump (twice?) or a shallow librul who follows every new #idpol and #woke trend of the day and votes solidly Democratic.

Bingo.

Mung Beans's Quebecois Catholic school teacher seems like a pretty easy CAQ voter, especially since she's from Quebec City, which is a somewhat more conservative place than Montreal. Pre-CAQ she might have felt politically homeless due to a dearth of right-of-center autonomist parties.

Here's a very famous literary one:

Gender: Male
Age: 37
Ethnicity: Mixed/ambiguous South Asian
Sexual orientation: Straight
Hometown: Liverpool
Residence: Bradford
Relationship status: Widower
Occupation: Landowner, military veteran, manages a small fortune of unclear origin
Education: Little formal education, but well-read and has a Hard Lessons from Life degree from the School of Hard Knocks
Hobbies: Few hobbies; enjoys spending time with his dogs to an extent, but is unkind to them. Sometimes entertains guests.
Other pertinent info: Adopted into an established, respectable, but not especially wealthy family of local notables at a very young age. Was very close to his now-deceased adoptive sister.

This one is based on someone I know.

Gender: Female
Age: 21
Ethnicity: Malayali
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Residence: Boston, MA
Hometown: Thiruvananthapuram, India
Religion: Protestant
Relationship Status: Single
Profession: Undergraduate student
Education: En route to BS in Biology, pre-med
Interests: Biology, traditional Indian dance, literature, politics
Other: fluent in English and Malayalam, speaks some Spanish, has a leadership position in her sorority, also has some involvement with the protestant chapel community on campus

This is correct. Her family moved from India to the U.S. when she was about 9, and her permanent residence is in the Boston area (university is in upstate NY). She is definitely a Democrat and probably supported one of those three candidates in the primaries.

Nathan's is Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights? More than "very close"...
His vindictive senses may actually make him a good candidate for Disgusted-Of-Tunbridge-Wells attitudes and UKIP/Leave voting.

Since Christian Indians were mentioned, here is the slightly Americanized version of someone I know and I have actually already mentioned on this forum:
Gender - Female
Age - 26
Race (Ethnicity) - Asian (Zo people)
Sexual orientation - Heterosexual
Relationship status - Single
Religion - Baptist
Hometown - Churachandpur, India
Current location - DFW
Education - Degree in Philosophy
Occupation - Currently pursuing a master in Theology
Other - Can speak four languages; fascinated by Italy; has many siblings in India

Definitely a Democrat with a somewhat socially conservative bent. May have come from a Republican family and initially voted for Romney but became more liberal when she got out on her own.

Here's my projection of where a minor character from an obscure alternate history/time travel novel would be in the present day.

Gender: Male
Age: 74
Race/Ethnicity: White (Irish/English)
Relationship Status: Divorced (Was very briefly married in his youth, had one son he has a strained relationship with)
Religion: Catholic who very seldom attends church
Hometown/Current Location: South Boston, MA
Education: High School diploma (has taken several community college classes here and there)
Occupation: Retired liquor store owner. His younger partner now handles day to day operations but he still owns a minority share.
Other: Was a minor league baseball player signed by the Boston Red Sox right out of high school. Showed significant promise as a shortstop but his career suffered when he was drafted and sent to Vietnam (after having refused offers from team management to help him get a deferment.) When he returned he was cut from the team, officially because his play had suffered but unofficially because he was having an affair with the wife of a teammate (who later became his aformentioned first wife) which violated an unofficial code. After that he worked a series of dead end jobs, first as a cab driver, then in a Gillette Factory until the plant closed down when he decided to open a liquor store. Briefly sang lead vocals in a punk band as well. To this day is a functioning alcoholic, still a die hard Red Sox fan but is extremely bitter about how circumstances destroyed his childhood dream, especially since he'd been raised to have few interests other then Baseball and it was something he'd been groomed for from a young age. Always struggled to adjust to adult life when the dream didn't pan out.

Based on a real person:

Gender: Male
Age: 39
Race: White (German, Jewish etc. descent)
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Residence/Hometown: Denver metro area, Colorado
Religion: Atheist
Relationship Status: Single
Profession: IT worker
Education: BS in Computer Science
Income: $55,000/year
Interests: Video games (esp first person shooters), heavy metal/punk rock music, movies, workout, bowling, firearms
Other: -Was a minor juvenile delinquent in high school, arrested for trespass and theft but soon gave up this behaviour
-Suffers from various form of mental illness, though he has received therapy.
-Has some Jewish ancestry, though he does not particularly identify with it

Is this a still living Dylan Klebold that didn't do Columbine? I'd say he's not particularly ideological but sort of an anti-establishment and libertarianish swing voter. Supported Obama in 08 (after voting for Ron Paul in the primary) then Gary Johnson in 2012 and 2016 while voting for Bernie in the primary. In 2020 a Yangganger who didn't vote in the general.

Also based loosely on a real person:

Gender: Male
Age: 38
Race: White/Native American (1/2nd Scotts-Irish, 1/2nd mix of Seminole and Cherokee)
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Religion: Nominally an Atheist but dabbles in Buddhism and Native American spirituality
Relationship Status: Married, one child (Met wife while an exchange student in Japan during college, is a legal permanent resident.)
Hometown: Jenks, Oklahoma
Current Location: Osaka, Japan
Occupation: Author, Podcaster/Vlogger, political commentator, lecturer (also moonlights as an English teacher)
Education: BA in History and Journalism
Income: $75-100,000 a year
Interests: History, geopolitics, researching various conspiracy theories, martial arts (is a black belt in Karate) anime, comic books, 80s kung-fu movies
Other: Believes strongly in various conspiracy theories and constantly rails against "Zionists" who he claims are behind various evils that have nothing to do with Israel while adamantly insisting that he isn't an anti-Semite. Is highly intelligent, was a valedictorian in high school and college but somewhat unstable and paranoid, an alcoholic with a particular fondness for Chuhai. Recreationally abuses ADHD medication.
Might be a Sanders primary supporter but not clear what orientation they are politically.
This is based on a fictional character:
Gender: Female
Age: 50
Sexual orientation: Straight
Religion: Not particularly devout, but likely raised Greek Orthodox
Race: White
Hometown: in Pennsylvania
Current Location: NYC
Occupation: TV writer, actor
Education: Bachelor in Theatre Arts
Income: 150K a year
Interests: Wine, Tootsie, Star Wars, Amy Grant, Feminism, being liberal
Other: can be tolerant but often accidentally intensive, overestimates own confidence,
Dating history is full of men who are problematic

Probably a Clinton fan in 2016, voted warren in the 2020 primary. Straight ticket democrat in both general elections.

Age: 55
Race: ethenic Tamilian from India
Hometown: Hyderabad
Current Location: Atlanta,Georgia,
Occupation: Corporate Executive
Education: Bachelors in Commerce, Masters in Accounting, MBA
Income: 300K a year
Interests: Movies, Politics, World News, Family, Investments
Immigrants to the UK in 2000 and Naturalised as a citizen in 2015. Family spread across the world.

Probably a remain voter in the UK and a Labourite who voted Lib-Dem in 2019 due to a dislike of Corbyn. Would definitely be a Democrat in the Midwest.

Gender: Male
Age: 43
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Religion: Agnostic (raised Catholic)
Race/Ethnicity: White (Italian)
Hometown/Current Location: Philadelphia, PA
Occupation: History teacher
Education: BA in History
Interests: US history buff and expert in obscure presidential trivia, reading classic literature, Philadelphia Eagles football, Once entered ballroom dance competition with wife.
Marital Status: Married, no children (second marriage, first ended badly with wife filing restraining order on him.)
Other: Suffers from bipolar disorder which is under control with medication, once spent nearly a year in a psychiatric hospital. Wife is the widow of a police officer and suffers from various mental health disorders as well.

I should have specified this was a fictional character btw. It's the Bradley Cooper character from Silver Lining Playbook and where I'd imagine him to be in 2020. I do think that H. Ross Peron's description of where his politics would be are spot on.

SKIP (obviously since the last post was mine)

Definitely a Democrat with a somewhat socially conservative bent. May have come from a Republican family and initially voted for Romney but became more liberal when she got out on her own.

Yeah, Democrat with a socially conservative bent is exactly how I imagine her if she lived in the USA.
The real person I used as a basis lives in Churachandpur and attended university in Delhi. She's never actually voted because she was always registered in Manipur while in university. My understanding is that she dislikes BJP and Modi but I don't know otherwise, in part because I don't know how exactly Manipuri tribal ethnic strifes relate to party politics.

Your liquor store guy in South Boston is basically an Edward J. King Democrat I guess (and a big racist). Voted Wallace in 1968 (from Vietnam?), loved Reagan, probably didn't dislike Clinton, and is very Trumpy today.

Next person, inspired by a trick Nathan pulled some pages ago but upping the ante:

Gender - Male
Age - That would be telling
Race - White/Middle Eastern
Sexual orientation - Heterosexual
Relationship status - Married, three children
Religion - Jewish, very devout
Current location - mmh... rural Israel
Education - Little to none
Occupation - Farmer
Interests and hobbies - Wine. A lot of wine

No prizes for guessing who this is.
