This is almost certainly going to be awful. Trump is going to talk about Hunter Biden at any given and non-given opportunity. I fear that Biden won't have a forceful response and the whole thing will de-evolve into a complete sh*tshow, much like the first debate albeit possibly with fewer interruptions.

If the second debate is also a disaster then Trump will lose by default. Trump needs the gamechanger, Biden doesn't. It should make Trump ace up his game. It just won't happen because he thinks he won the first debate and he is still Donald Trump.

Sure, but this time he has an actual target (the Hunter Biden "scandal"), whereas last time Trump was just rambling gibberish the entire way through.

And Biden should shoot that target down immediately with a strong answer and turn the tables on Trump (which is hardly difficult to do).
Absolutely and I hope he has a forceful answer prepared. I'm just not convinced that he'll deliver on it, partly because the laptop the FBI has likely IS Hunters, which makes it harder to flat out reject it.

As far as I know the FBI has not said anything about the owner of the laptop. Just right-wing media outlets like the NY Post and Fox News saying it's Hunter Bidens laptop.

And Biden should not talk about the laptop itself but about the allegations in general. Going into the details makes it worse.

Just a remark about Giuliani and Borat will most likely be enough to discredit the story. Rudy is the source after all.

Most people probably don't care about Hunter Biden anyway. If Trump keeps bringing it up he will just annoy people. They want real answers on the problems of the day, like Covid, race relations and the economy.
Let's hope so.

We will see.

All I need from Biden in this debate is for him to put hands around Hunter and tell Trump to keep his child's name out of his mouth.

Remember when "families are off limits" was a go-to Republican mantra?

I’m betting Trump does better.

Expectations are so low for him after the first debate and the town hall.

Plus, with muted mics there’s less chance for him to interrupt and act like an idiot, so by default he’ll look more appealing to low information voters.

I'm really not looking forward to this. Trump's just going to smear Biden and lie about his son. Biden will come off as, again, an experienced and steady leader. We shouldn't even be having this debate, I don't think there's a point trying to debate with a liar.

Can't help but think that a good performance from Biden &/or another disaster from Trump probably seals the election (more than it already is, that is).

Biden got a bump from the last debate (though it ended up getting overshadowed by the bump from Trump getting COVID) that helped push him above an average of 10% nationally & that's only just now starting to recede: Biden's now averaging 9.9% in 538's tracker, down from a high of like 10.7%.

Over 45M people have already voted. Polls show undecideds make up less than 10% of the electorate, & probably more like 5%. If Biden gets another bump from this debate (even if it's only just a point), or if Trump doesn't cut into the lead significantly, I don't know how he possibly comes back. Hell, he'd probably need to at least halve his current deficit to have a shot at suppression & other shenanigans throwing the election into doubt. And he'd need to be halving that lead while COVID is once again getting worse around the country & at a point in time at which he himself has finally explicitly admitted that he wants to see the ACA struck down in the middle of a deadly pandemic.

So that's where I'm at.

They called Bloody Mary when people commented on Barron height but they full-on called Hunter a pedophile and crickets.

And a money launderer, and a drug addict, and a drug dealer (Trump at rally).

Everytime Trump goes after Hunter Biden Joe should calmly bring this up...

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/sen-johnson-releases-findings-hunter-biden-probe-alleging-conflict-interest-n1240816

He should simply point out the fact that the GOP has already investigated this and their own report was clear that both Joe Biden and Hunter Biden did not do anything wrong nor did they commit any crimes

This is the reality and all the silly Trump attacks in the world is not going to change that fact

Biden should also bring up the fact that Trump currently has a Secret Chinese bank account that he was hidding from the American people.

Trump cant have it both ways on this
He cant say Joe is not being honest about his bussines dealings while on the other hand he is hidding something like that from the public

I normally get pizza for debates but Back to the Future released on UHD this week and I used my weekly pizza allowance for that. So I'm just going with chicken nuggets for the debate tonight.

Meadows claims Trump has tested negative:

I wouldn't trust this at all.

He was supposed to be tested last time too, and they shirked out on that.  There's no reason to believe he's tested negative now.

This is what Fox will be talking about, but I imagine everyone else will ignore it like they are now:

Probably Trump's lamest stunt ever. I've never heard of this person, I'm guessing almost nobody else here has, and we post daily on an elections forum. Getting desperate, Donny?

That's probably one of the sounder predictions on this forum. Smiley
